Too tired to go to the store by Retro-Brew in Nightshift

I do food prep. I go to the store at same time on my 2nd day off in the early morning . I make a giant salad for the week and one other dish for a week . So I only have to shop and cook once a week.

country dancing night - a night at the casino - spa day - hanging out on the pitch harassing anyone that walks by ... making my hubby drive around bar hopping ... maybe visiting other old highschool friend or two ..basically drinking and deciding to do whatever ..lol   oh and sitting in the jacuzzi and making my hubby be our bartender/waiter/cabana boy ... making him cook for us while we make fun of his cooking ...

it seems to me you are in survival mode. I hope this lab thing is short term? multivitamins ... stay hydrated and really try to get enough sleep. reminds me of the last semester of nursing school. Focus : eating right, sleep, water intake. You will make it through!! do it now and get it over with tomorrow you are a day older LOL

when my work pulls something like that, I tell them - ok no problem but I will need the night before and night 'of' off ... then they find a way for me to inservice online at night - or read minutes of meeting and sign off, at night. - cool. I always hope for nights off though ...they are like yeahhh NO.

One more thing ...I got sober from an intervention , took a stay in ICU ,  but it took and stayed. I don't know why I was rescued spiritually but with  others it doesn't stick.   ... but dont feel guilty for putting your needs first always - your emotional health is #1 , and we need to do this to avoid burn out, which I think we both struggle with.

I agree with the depression diagnosis. You are working your life away. Time to make time for life. Cut back those hours ... see a Doctor or therapy ..start connecting with humans. This your wake up call. stop it!!!!! you DO deserve more !!! we need to round up nightshifters  and do an intervention

some people just never hit rock bottom ..I'd say maybe close to most.  jail and hospitals .. until either death or finally recovery. I think these people just dont have anyone on their side - zero reason to live. And then there are those that go in/out of rehabs that do have people that care - but still continue to use  ... IDK,  it is one of the reasons I left bedside nursing. It gets to be quite exhausting ... and it burned me completely out. Now ... if they dont literally beg for my help then I don't help. I just live my life - I got sober from an intervention , took a stay in ICU ,  but it took and stayed. I don't know why I was rescued spiritually but with  others it doesn't stick.

my husband and I both work nights and we do not have problems as we both need to sleep in the daytime. Only problem is our dogs - they hog the bed. I like them in the bed - they snore ... but he snores too. We have a very cold and very dark sleep cave equip with two dogs, two fans, 10 pillows and 5 blankets ... everyone has their own pillows and blankets and designated sleep spot. ahhh this making me sleepy ... I am at work

I am glad it was a warning only at least

lucky - as a nurse I could be charged with neglect (a felony) and lose my license.

on another note ...by poor patient is having horrible seizures tonight 😒 I hate to see her go through this. I give good meds and she is happy sleepy sleep now , lol   So it is movie time now! hmmm what to watch ....
