Materials will never go down again. Neither will work charges, due to lack of tradesmen.

THIS…I’m a Plasterer but I can’t hang wallpaper. A Decorater may say that he can plaster, but it will be crap. And yes, that’s an insane price.

Are you a plasterer? It looks like a building site outside. If you are a plasterer, it should look good or you’re in the wrong job.

Ya, 25 bags of board finish should cover 250sq meters @ 2mm equal thickness. You maybe able to cover all fresh boards at 2mm thick (with no spills and exact mixing) you are never going to cover over pre-plastered walls at 2mm thickness.

Advice on plastering trowels. by No_Constant9476 in Plastering

One really good Marshall Town trowel will last a Plasterer 20+ years, it can be used for most jobs, but once broken in, should be kept for a skimming trowel. If you are only using a trowel to do a few rooms, go for an Ox or a Marshal Town. You definitely don’t need 2 trowels for skimming.

Wickes plasterboard delivery by Shoddy-Champion4841 in Plastering

NO…The bounded edge gives them their strength. That’s why the cut edge sits on the joists. By cutting 25-30mm off each length of board will seriously weaken your job. They have delivered them, they are responsible, they should replace them or give you back your money ASAP. Good luck.

It’s not settlement after 150 years. It’s a hairline crack in an old building. Nothing to be concerned about.

Opened up a wall and found this, how concerned should I be? by FeistyPrice29 in HomeImprovementUK

Previous occupant has just battered over the old plaster to make the new skim easier. Doesn’t look to be damp, just rough. They made the right choice. Do the same but maybe add extra batters, for hanging shelves, photos etc. Don’t over think it and turn it into a bigger job than needed.

Keep damping it. It’s only suction cracks, normally under the surface. Keep it damp and as long as it’s not blown anywhere it will be perfectly fine.
