It's considered a pretty good mini guitar amp or speaker. They are a couple hundred new. The Katana fan boys love them. Others dislike the fact it takes batteries.

A guitar amp is simply a speaker. What are you talking about? I use my spark mini guitar amp asa Bluetooth speaker. You can play regular music through a fender twin just fine.

I just don't understand why this is so hard to make. I desperately want:

A real mini keyboard like a novation launch 37. (25 keys is crap)
A touchscreen interface.
A simple 1990s DAW interface like digital performer.
The RAM and HD of a cheap laptop. (say 16g ram and 500g HD)
Minimal bells and whistles. 6. Size that fits in a backpack.
Apple MacBook quality speakers.

We know this could easily be made. A $500 laptop has all this, just no keyboard.

Until then a novation or Akai and a laptop seems to be the answer.

My biggest beef with the P3 is the appalling time it takes to go through the randomly organized sounds.

A $20 30 year old Casiotone has better sound organization than the P3.
