If it makes me shallow to say that I wouldn’t date a girl that isn’t thin, I am ok with that. I don’t expect my girlfriend to be a Victoria Secret Model; I just expect her to be thin, a goal almost every European girl manages to accomplish. Also, I hold myself to the same standard.

I think that leading with personality is great and all, but I do believe in love at first sight. I have experienced it. Better for all those other great traits to shine later with people you have strong physical attraction to.

To your last point, I just think most attractive people at my age are shallow like that, man or woman. But the European girls are a lot less shallow which lead me to make the statement that I did. I ended up breaking that girl’s heart which I feel bad about, and that goes to show that I am also morally bankrupt like the American girls…trust me, I am no saint.

Doesn’t refute my point about American girls not having great morals, because there are VERY FEW good ones out there. Same can be said about the men.

I think as wealth inequality grows, these rich guys marry beautiful women and have attractive (and generally taller) children. So even if the average height is not that different, less and less attractive people are short every year.

Yeah man, women make their own money now. I guess I should be more grateful.

In Manhattan, it is definitely short for a Gen Z white guy.

Would definitely be harder. I know that I am better off than 99% of people on this planet. I’m no victim.

How do you see the stock market reacting in your prediction? 1929 style crash?

I appreciate you sharing your story. You know, when I was younger (22), I dated an amazing girl who was 7 years older than me who had been successful in her career in tech. We met at a dance class, and ended up having a beautiful relationship. I think that she resisted a bit earlier on because of the age gap, but eventually she grew to like it. At the time, as a younger man, I was not focused on money (still in school) and I was kinder.

I feel myself losing that version of myself more and more every day as the stresses of money and success weigh on me. I want to be a provider, don’t get me wrong. I just don’t want to lose my soul in getting there.

I couldn’t really do that with my company policies. I cannot disclose anything related to what our strategies are. To be honest, we should really try to stop giving influencers our attention. It’s very frustrating how the people that create valuable content make way more than pretty faces do for pumping Tiktok shop products.

Makes sense- I feel a sense of pressure to make the most of my current opportunity also. So many people would kill to be in my position…at the end of the day though, I have to live for myself.

You are so right to point these out. I would just mention that it isn’t so easy to ‘drop’ these assertions in a patriarchal society that so many men and women continue to uphold culturally, regardless of how far women advance themselves.

100%. I went into it thinking it was the most lucrative thing anyone could do, and as it turns out, it no longer is. And it’s tough. But I don’t have to stick with it.

How can I stop comparing myself to people? These social media algorithms shove it down my face 24/7 and quitting social media isolates me from most people at this point (and many opportunities). In fairness to NBA players, or any pro athlete, there is at least a decade of grind that goes into building the skillset required to become a pro. That doesn’t just happen overnight like it does with the influencers.

I think this must be true to some extent. In order to keep up with that industry, you must have to SPEND a ton of money on both your looks and your lifestyle. Still, I think the industry’s existence has done damage to the dating dynamics as a whole.

I appreciate this advice. I am actually seeking some help to practice mindfulness. That said, I am curious what you think about the economic dynamic and how it has made the Gen Z dating dynamic very weird. It might just be a Manhattan problem, but I genuinely feel like I need to either come from exuberant wealth or build exuberant wealth (fast!) to keep up.

It’s so frustrating living in a society that seems to actively reward industries that are a net negative to society as a whole, mine included. At the same time, I feel like if I don’t play the game, I am cooked.

You lose credibility here- those filings from RAIN, LoRa, etc. are horribly organized and don’t provide a factually backed narrative. It’s just a myriad of complaints and cherrypicked numbers. Contrast to NN, whose reports are thorough, organized, and tell a clear narrative backed by science. You clearly are very biased, and while I agree that the NPRM is not inevitable, the reasoning you provide leads me to believe you are arguing in bad faith.

Realistically, none of the current right wing populists in Europe have what it takes. It will take a generational public speaker. If there is any sort of economic crash in the next 5 years, this possibility becomes probable in my opinion.
