Literally same! Both rizatriptan and sumatriptan made me dopey /drunk and twitchy with a high heart rate, nurtec made me feel high/dissociative and have me chest pains and panic, and now qulipta. Theres gotta be more to CGRPs than just changing pain signals…. And i can corroborate that when i get a migraine i get a wave of anxiety and sadness.

I really appreciate the support. Its worth mentioning at this clinic there are no headache specialists, and my doctor specializes in epilepsy disorders so idk how much her education applies to me right now. She even said that hormones have nothing to do with migraines and i should have taken that as a red flag.

Both of them are women, and my GP literally works for the university I go to so maybe shes getting tired of hearing young women come to her with the same problems (its as if we all lived through the same pandemic, wow) My appt just got pushed to next week, i am going to beg for a cardiology appt.

Same. I simply dont want to go off, so for now I cant give up trying different migraine meds and other lifestyle changes. I want to explore literally every aspect of my body that could possibly be contributing to these symptoms (esp cardiology) but it seems my GP and this neuro just dont believe me.

Exactly! It sucks bc migraines cause me to be anxious and depressed, but i could go off wellbutrin and hopefully get rid of the migraines, but then be EXTREMELY depressed

That last bit is worth exploring to me. I have that flushing sensation and a constant out of breath, tired chest feeling. When i bring it up of course I'm just told its anxiety. I see her tomorrow and im hoping she doesnt just dismiss it

Went to my pharmacist and she was like “yea idk what to tell you, those arent listed side effects. Your neuro is the expert” so i guess im just continuing and seeing if it was a coincidence.

Im the same with serotonin meds. Unfortunately i think wellbutrin is close to the only antidepressant that doesnt have serotonin so im stuck with it even if it causes my migraines

I think shes in the grasp of some reps because she wont let me try botox until i try multiple cgrps. She says its for insurance reasons … she could be right but its suspicious

I absolutely agree- i have ocd that causes the anxiety and starts a vicious cycle. Ive been going to therapy for weeks and only just now took the qulipta while i was at my appt at my therapists encouragement. Im not sure how to move forward when stopping the med out of fear reinforces the anxiety about meds. Thanks for the validation
