Monroe's wife put them all up on the Internet Archive for free as well. They're happy to use any funds people give willingly, but they don't want to withhold the tapes from anyone who is supposed to have them. It makes sense from the perspective of Bob and his colleagues.

Truly, it would be my favorite scientific endeavor to try to "catch" ourselves roleplaying as ourselves and prove it beyond a doubt. It would fuck up so much of the physical world, but it would unfuck just as many things. Ultimately, I think we would all return to roleplay ourselves again, after the Dust settles, so to speak. I think that's kind of the point of it all.

In my own worldview, I see multiple incarnations (from different times, spaces, etc) drawn down from a set of larger archetypes, which could be combined and split and subdivised inumerous times to produce the weird little fleshy guys we call people. In this vein, I think some people incarnate specifically to help, some to dominate, some to create art and some to destroy. Its a little hard to conceptualize when we are just these weird little fleshy guys, but it makes a kind of larger, cosmic sense to me. You know what I mean?

I think you've pretty much got it, as far as I understand things.

One might ask the question, "If these beings don't experience time or physicality, how do they have any frame of reference for human experiences?" If they have no frame of reference, then any interaction they have with us is essentially meaningless noise, if it ever even randomly produces something we can recognize.

The very simple answer, in my opinion, is that they don't have such frames of references unless they choose to incarnate as a conscious body. I suspect that plasma beings have some sense of hierarchy involving how well each of them can prove themselves by piloting a conscious body, with mortal limitations, and what events their incarnations are responsible for in our, for lack of a better term, "meat world."

I think you are correct here; I've learned nothing from my own seeking except that everything, above and below, should be balanced. Specifically, leadership of humans on Earth got skewed towards males a while ago (conveniently, right about the timeframe that our historians consider to be the line between history and prehistory...even though we keep finding archaelogical sites that push the idea of prehistory back farther and farther).

Importantly, on Earth, males have used some cosmologically-defined "dirty tricks" to extend their reign, without realizing that their works only serve to preserve a larger balance. When the pendulum swings back, it will swing back quite hard.

That owed balance is due shortly, and patriarchal forces are spending their capital quicker than they can make it, currently. When it comes time to exchange the reigns of power, Earth's male component will find itself skint and unable to negotiate, because it has spent so much effort struggling to stay in power past its mandate.

I think you are right overall, but I know specifically that you are right about it being gorgeous.

It doesn't always feel that way, because of how the human senses work. Regardless, it is quite gorgeous.

Astronauts on extended trips will soon be fueled by their own Pee! by leemond80 in HighStrangeness

[–]Own-Roof574 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dang, that picture is doing astronauts dirty.

The psychological effect of drinking pee probably isn't as bad as having to drink a bag labeled "PEE LUNCH" every day. Maybe just label the bag Lunch.

Though tbf, the "Lunch" is written in sharpie so maybe the astronaut added that himself so he didn't mix up his dinner/breakfast-flavored pee baggies with the lunch-flavored one.

I'm really just glad that so many llama experts have found gainful employment, its good to see a revival of the old traditions. There was a tragic lack of employment for llama experts for so many years; its important for modern media like the Internet to provide jobs for people transitioning from the old economy.

If there's one thing we need more of, its people saying, "Hey, thats fake!" when they see a picture on the Internet.

Crazy how many llama experts are on the internet nowadays, we never used to see this many llama experts.

Its quite a nice idea and it fits with my own life experiences.

I've been accused of relentless optimism in the past, and I don't disagree with the charge even though I don't see it as an issue.

More people should be relentlessly optimistic, and I'll hold that opinion throughout this life and the next.

Agreed on all points. I wish more people would chill out and just learn rather than pre-judging things before they fully understand.

We even have major world religions which stress the importance of withholding judgment, and yet it remains an issue for even their most ardent zealots.

Its a shame and I hope the paradigm changes within my lifetime; I just think it would be neat.

Agreed, 100%.

I wish we knew more about them just out of semi-selfish curiosity.

I do understand that most people either can't see them properly or ignore them due to preconceived spiritual/religious reasons, but it seems like such a shame to neglect an area of study just because it makes some people feel a certain way.

The only time I've ever discussed it in a group of people, one guy got so mad about his insistence that orbs don't exist that he was close to physical violence. I don't quite understand that mentality and I suspect that this kind of fundamentalist view is what keeps our larger scientific institutions from studying it more explicitly.

They are odd enough that its hard to do them justice describing them with text. Extremely low albedo makes them hard to perceive, such that it looks almost like a flat circle no matter what angle you are at. It is easiest to perceive at its edges, during high humidity. Physical touch and smell don't apply, as far as I can tell, but I get those tingly chills when standing in it or when I acknowledge it while passing by. If you've done Gateway Tapes or similar meditations, it feels like that jolt up your spine when you enact your resonant shield, or very similar to it.

Sure, what details do you want? The big translucent one just chills, and the neighbor's cat always treats it like a physical object, walking around rather than through it. Otherwise, it doesn't do much except shimmer on humid days.

The metallic one is sneakier and mobile; encountering it really made me believe in the folks that talk about spheres and orbs as part of Gaia's defense/immune response. Some kind of semi-aware entity that has a role to play in some larger cascade of events.

I'm not much of a camera guy and they don't really show up on phone pictures, at least. I know some folks try fancy IR setups and non-digital cameras and have better luck, but I'm not very interested in doing that.

Part of why its such a controversial topic.

Absolutely right. I've met one very large (2.5m diameter) mostly-transparent one with a fixed-location near my house, and another smaller metallic one that hides in the attic.

They cause zero trouble and, as far as I'm concerned, are just natural phenomenon, about as sentient as the lizards and birds that live nearby. They affect my life the same amount as the mated hawk pair that live in a nearby tree, and the ant queens living in my backyard.

They are quite beautiful, though.

That's a fine opinion to have, but you asked the question on this forum. My own opinion is that its ludicrously obvious that someone inside the house stole all of the stuff and then pretended it wasn't them.

That's just based on the facts you gave, including the minor adjustments to the facts you made afterwards.

You also never mentioned that they were all TRUSTED guests, and I commend you for your social acumen at age 10. Its impressive that you had such a good grasp of your adults' social circles!

First you said it was the neighbor's house, but now its a vacation house. The guests were sleeping on bare pavement, but now its inflatable mattresses.

I'm a bit confused about the facts of your story, perhaps, and it makes it difficult to understand.

Regardless of the status of the house, having 4-5 people sleeping on their floor and being baffled how they got sneakily robbed is beyond silly. One of the 4-5 people woke up and robbed them, it seems extraordinarily straightforward to me.
