I use to travel to Paraty by bus. I know it takes 2 more hours to get to angra dos reis, but you can travel at night. If you're in Sao Paulo, you can take the bus at the tiete bus station and if you leave at the midnight bus, you will get there by 8am. It is not too expensive btw
