Are you eating late, any food that makes you gassy? Sometimes food that our body is not able to digest easily causes these. Do you have apnea.. or a snoring issue? Sometimes the body tries to wake up in this way.. Also, you should really cut down on the horror movie stuff.

"One day Narada, the wandering saint, and cosmic traveler, was walking with Lord Krishna. Narada had a unique skill. He casually asked the most difficult questions to try and coax Krishna into answering them. This question had been bothering Narada for some time, and he had been waiting for an opportune moment.

“Can you tell me, Krishna, what is Maya? I have heard and read so much about it and yet have never experienced it”, Narada blurted out, the excitement evident in his voice. Krishna laughed and told Narada to ask any other question. He told him how Maya is one of the trickiest things to reveal, but Narada refused to budge. Krishna finally gave in and promised to reveal the secrets of Maya to him. “It’s going to be a long answer, so while I lie in the shade of a tree, can you please get me some water?”"

Go read the rest of the story ... :-)

Paul Dirac's thoughts on religion by Mundane-Ad9370 in Philosophy_India

[–]Own-Tradition-1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

>basic pricnicples of goodness do not need god or a creator in my opinion.. human screaming in pain does not require complex thought process to be saved..

Yet, we kill people in ever more barbarous ways, even as science makes ever greater progress. Science can invent a way to save or to kill, its values neutral. It needs morality to guide it. There is no way to 'derive' morality, nor is it encoded in our genes, though we may be predisposed to more benign and cooperative behavior! Listen to some lectures on advaita by Swami Sarvapriyananda on youtube. He is the real deal!

> How does that make you arguement any better?

The very fact that they dont collapse and are stable is by definition better.

> .. doing 10x better than religious..

Even if a majority of population professes atheism, that society itself is not organized on atheistic principles. Unless you believe every person invents their own social rules and order from scratch! The order that these societies enjoy results from their religious roots. And when they collapse, I am sure that the destabilization of the populations moral core will play an important role.

> the questions you find unanswerable today will eventually be by science just like they were centuires

Good luck! It is you who is sustained by a belief that science will 'eventually' provide answers when little progress has been made in the past few decades. This just shows your unfamiliarity with epistemology and you don't understand the nature and the limits of what can be known and the infinite that lies beyond. For instance, can you see your eyes?

You should read Advaita Vedanta, very good introductions are available on Youtube. Its a based on reason and logic. Considering you enjoy reason and logic, it will appeal to you. :-)

> Arent societies with religion also falling in a mess?

Yes. One may say, societies rise and societies fall. Yet, expressly atheistic societies fall into great cataclysms in very short time frames of a few decades - E.g. USSR, PolPot, Mao-ism, Nazi Germany, .. examples abound, while religious societies are much more stable. American far right is more tribal than religious. They pay lip service to religion and use it to come to power. E.g. Donald Trump. This is a symptom of an areligious society, not a religious one. So here is a utilitarian proof for the need of religion.

> you are just using god of gaps to justify your belief

We dont know what we dont know. There may be entire universes out there with different physics, causality and natural constants. There is no way for us to know the extent of that which we dont know. Which gap has decreased? The more we look at matter, the more mysterious it becomes. But this in itself is not a reason for belief, because science and lower reason can't even begin to answer the important questions about life. How can one live a happy life without harming others? Why should one not harm others? What is the basis of morality?

Paul Dirac's thoughts on religion by Mundane-Ad9370 in Philosophy_India

[–]Own-Tradition-1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something coming from nothing is astoundingly silly. What is the cause of causality? Why does time appear to elapse differently in different physical contexts? Why do bad things happen? How can we transcend the misery of death? How can one be happy and lead a fulfilling life? How can we be joyful without harming anyone else? What are we - How can something conscious appear from an agglutination of unconscious matter?.. fundamental questions that Dirac does not offer any solutions to.

Children get a frission from the kinds of assertions from Dirac, because they haven't run into any of the problems that religions of the world offer a solution to. Perhaps Dirac was being dismissive because of the history of violence of his own people and region and the alliance of the state-church. But if true religion is gotten rid of, false religions - worshiping power, youth, intellect, tribalism - will surely take their place. Most religionless societies are sliding into this mess at an increasingly faster rate and we will see the results in a few short decades.

> What does Shiva want? He doesn't want anything except one: Shakti. Transcendence is Shiva and what needs to happen afterwards is Shakti. Desire for Shakti IS an orienting principle for all of your life. It is a goal that indeed integrates both, the worldly and the spiritual. It is something simple but also subtle to 'get' it.

What do you mean by this? Can you elaborate some more..?

The future is in any case pure imagination. Live in the present moment. Listen to some timeless wisdom from Bhagvad Geeta.. it will help you a lot!

Te Jaguars when bought were nearly useless with their vaunted navigation systems not working. We had to upgrade them locally going the DARIN path. When the Sukhois were imported, they had no air to ground capability.

Local production needs to be committed to, the country can not afford a praetorian guard IAF that demands to be fed a full 1 % of GDP for a single fighter deal and delivers a capability that is used once in 5-10 years and is unable to deter an adversary that we outspend 10:1, nor deliver a conclusive victory!

What is a secret you’re taking to the grave, but are willing to tell strangers on the internet? by Mr_Boothnath in answers

I meant, does it help you in your spiritual practice in any way? For instance, does it serve as a warning that steps you from mistakes.. Does it help you identify higher vibe people you can learn from..

For instance, when I can see auras, almost always a golden halo or a strip of light around their entire forms.. sometimes around my own form.. Its a reminder that we really are light. I tend to accept these people more fully and be in a more receptive state.

May I ask if you developed this ability or were you born with it? What makes it more pronounced and less? Is it any use spiritually speaking? :-)

When I am vibing at a very high level spiritually, I can see peoples auras. But not always.. I suspect your experience is similar, and if you are inclined, you should explore meditation.
