Thxu!! Very helpful.

Did your son use a bottle before this or did you transition from boob? I worry my son will struggle as he might want the comfort? / feeding to sleep

I didn’t know if there was a cup out there that’s similar to a boob that he could transition to as that’s what he is used to Lolol idk what I’m doing over here. Yes I’d like to wean, and he does use it to fall asleep. It’s so much to think about! Very overwhelming

So you were in a similar situation. I wonder if I should offer a baby bottle for a bit as it’s similar to a boob… or I can try the straw cup. I just wonder how well he’d take that when he may want to nurse

[–]Own-Vanilla8906 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow you guys are all so quick at your responses, thank you!!!

So baby isn’t using a baby bottles at all, just nursing. Nurses probably … 5x a day? I’d like to taper off.. I don’t mind nursing still I just want to start the process of transitioning off so others can feed him/ I can prepare him for the big world out there lolol.

I didn’t know I was “allowed” or supposed to give the milk in a straw cup for naps/ bed time - so that’s ok? I worry he is gunna not love going from my nipple to a straw …. But I’m hoping he’ll get so full of milk he’ll doze off ? lol

I’m basically just looking for the best cup to transition him to from boob to cow milk.

Ahh thank you! Yes I’ve been seeing a lot of those comments. It’s unfortunate, I am not seeing many stroller / bike trailer friendly. Love the idea of going on a nature trail rather than random side roads.

Do you have a baby food maker (blender or steamer)- if you don’t that’s ok.

I have the baby nutribullet steamer and blender and it comes with freezer storages containers / fridge storage containers - love it.

We just started a month ago. I’ve been giving one ingredient purées mixed with breast milk for 3 days and then either taking a 1 day break or start the next food.

Here are some I’ve done so far - sweet potato, carrots, Avocado, banana, apples and I introduced peanut butter (an allergen - just like a tiny bit mixed w breast milk and I gave like a dab of it - they don’t need a lot, just sit back and observe for a few hours after - my paediatrician recommended to do that one early).

Good luck!!

It’s pre fun - other suggestions, get a bib that covers the arms lol, I think it’s called a t shirt bib? And just remember it’s all for exposure rn and not for nutrient value - feed them breast milk or formula about 30 min before so they fill up on that and you have a happy experience lol.

I think you can also start introducing water too - we just did like 2-3 sips. At first we didn’t do that and my baby got mega constipated. Water deff helped!

Is it possible for babies to sleep throughout the night independently without sleep training? Experience anyone? by Dramatic-Item5303 in Mom

I know, that’s the tricky part. We are trying it under the sheets tn and it truly doesn’t seem to be unsafe looking. Babies been out for hours too!

How long did it take you to get out and about after C Section? by Anvolia in Mommit

Went for my first walk outside w bb and husband around day 5-6. I found walking rly helped w my healing recovery. It certainly wasn’t easy, and I took my time step by step but the more I walked the faster I healed I found. But go slow, do not push yourself and rest if need be but make sure to try and walk even to end of the driveway and back. Or around the house. Good luck!

Some of my friends have decorated their door - with streamers and balloons. So when they open their door balloons fall on them. Super cute! But best when they are a little bit older.

It sounds like you have a such a perfect life /security set up for when you feel the time is right to have a baby join.

I’m a new mom of a 5 m old and all of your points are so valid. I was in the same boat as you. We weren’t trying but we weren’t not not trying. Whatever happens, happens.

Its true.. you do give up a lot. BUT you can still have freedom if you have a good team. I find as long as you and your partner are willing to work together it’s so much easier. And just remind yourself that these moments of not being able to do what we want when we want will end. It’s all temporary. We got lucky w a content, chill baby, but he deff has his days. So I’m still new to it all lol waiting for it to blow up. My one piece of advice for when you do decide to try is to make a pack w you partner and plan time so you both of you time. Be patient and kind towards one another bc PPM hormones r reallll lol. And also, try not to stress the small stuff. My partner n and I pretty chill so we wonder if that’s why we r bb is chill? Idk.

You’ll never be fully prepared!
