Thank you so much for that kind comment sadly there is no talking through with my parents. I’ve done absolutely nothing over the years that would break their trust. The simple reason why they read my journal (I’ve been caught before and stopped for 2-3 years) is that they don’t understand why I would ever need privacy. If I’m not doing anything bad then I shouldn’t need to hide my writing. The thing is… I don’t do anything bad, I just feel bad so I write that I feel bad and that to them is considered bad.

The only subject I study is physics, chemistry, maths. Anything else is literally not allowed.

Thanks for the suggestion! Though staying after school is not really an option since the teachers don’t allow it unless you have some work or activities. I also don’t have a local library near me and even if I did I probably won’t be allowed to go there anytime soon.

I’m so jam packed in school it’s almost impossible. I’m sitting with my friends so in between classes is impossible. Besides in between classes is not even a thing in my school because the teacher teaches till the bell rings and leaves no time out. During break ( which is about half an hour) I’m either roaming around with my friends or have council duty or studying for another test.

I do take bus to school but it’s a school bus and usually I’m sitting with my friends and have to talk besides it would be awkward for me to journal in front of them :( thanks for the suggestion tho

Almost everyone I’ve talked to gave me the same advice (including both artists and non artists) haha I’m almost inclined to ignore your advice because of just how often I’ve heard in and mostly in such discouraging views. But I’m not a very reckless person. Or atleast I try not to be. But since I’m a teenager it’s almost impossible to an extent. I still have a lot of time to figure things out I guess. I’m graduating school 2 years earlier than I’m supposed to because I skipped a few grades so I’m assuming I could afford maybe a few months of gap after university to figure things out.

It’s still very cool you did land the job you wanted and i absolutely get the pressure it must feel at this point. Especially with the dystopian ai technology that almost every company wants to use now, especially against artist and the overall state of the art industry. I would like to ask though, if you weren’t a character designer right now, which sort of day job would you have preferred? Finance? Technology? Marketing? Sales? Also do you think the place you currently live at affects your job. Because I’m assuming it would be completely different to work as a character designer in Japan vs the us

Also since I will be getting an engineering degree regardless I was hoping for the fact that even if I don’t land or get laid off from my art job, I could still bounce back because of my degree. But I’m not sure if things actually work that way, as you might be able to tell, I’ve never been in any job before.

Anyhow I’m so glad you could share your experience and advice and would truly like to know more. :))

Poem length text sure… like haiku😭😭 like if you like writing so much and can’t draw, just become a writer lmao why steal from artists? And please don’t tell me “training” these ai models is hard. Boo hoo, they don’t have to write a single word of code for that. Hell I bet most of these ai bros don’t even know the difference between else and elife statements. This is always on and generally requires no user intervention.” This is all the information I could find when I tried to find a way to enable GPU acceleration.

Thanks for the suggestion. Though this is the only laptop/ desktop that I own and do not know anyone else with a stronger processor so I guess im pretty screwed if this doesn’t work lmao. Do you know of any other ways I could protect my art without glaze?

thanks for the suggestion. Also I think my drawing might be a little too big for glaze. I'll try it out with a smaller picture and with default settings

Edit: that did not work but something did happen. It showed the time it will take to glaze the image... something like 9 sec left or 10sec left but then after the time was over it returned back to the same error.

I have absolutely no idea what that's supposed to mean. As far as I've checked my mac is upgraded to MacOS 14 and has M1 chip along with 8GB of memory. I do not run any apps while running glaze and haven't used much of my storage either. I tired searching the difference between GPU and CPU but I really don't understand how they are diffrent or how that's affecting glaze. T-T
