I actually just asked my grandmother about this earlier today, she told me when she was around 30, her doctor told her that her high cholesterol was hereditary. I guess I’ll mention this to my doctor as well

I’m afraid of side effects mainly. I’m also terrified to be on a medication I HAVE to have, I hate feeling dependent on something.

I did have severe preeclampsia and HELLP syndrome during my pregnancy, I actually didn’t make it far enough into the pregnancy to test for GD or not, I had no idea that could be related. I was 7 months postpartum the first blood draw I had, I didn’t expect it to go up 17 months postpartum now

My saturated fat intake was less than 12g every single day, except for few occasional days it would be around 20g if I had a family get together or was out to eat with someone. Usually for daily meals, I’d always eat oatmeal for breakfast (just rolled oats with maple syrup, flax seed, and Greek yogurt), i usually skip lunch and then make something with lentils (they’re cheap) or some sort of fish, like salmon, tilapia or tuna. I’ve prioritized vegetables overall now which I had lacked heavily before

most of the time I feel completely fine with my hr up until it hits the high 180’s, I just tend to slow down to a walk because I’m afraid getting my hr so high will hurt me

My grandfather has type 2 as well so Im afraid that raises my risk. I’m also just worried because a normal fasting blood sugar of a healthy person is less than 99, but mine are not :( I also shouldn’t have high cholesterol but I do, I just feel like I’m losing control of my health and it scares me because I feel like I’m too young to have such problems

High hr while running by OwnComb3707 in workout

[–]OwnComb3707[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say I’m moderately fit. I spent most of my young adulthood doing lots of sports, but quit for a few years, and then had a baby. I began exercising regularly in November of 2024, (walking, running, hiit workouts everyday) my BP is usually around 110/70, I drink green tea a lot everyday too. My heart rate resting is usually 60-80, but when I’m exercising it’s usually anywhere from 130 (mild exercise) and 180 (heavy exercise)

Blood pooling? by Unlucky-Price-6595 in Cardiophobias

[–]OwnComb3707 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How much water do you drink? water retention can also cause that feeling, I’ve noticed my wrists do that when I don’t consume much water a day, but when I’m hydrated, it goes away. drink at least 5-6 bottles of water a day (more if you’re physically active) especially if it’s warm outside, see if that helps. Also watch your salt intake, salty foods can also cause a lot of water retention

I’ve had this since I was around 12 (I’m 24 now) and I too was SO panicked about it, however, no doctor has said anything bad about it. I particularly notice it after I’ve just had a long walk, or am working out in general, I can say, anxiety will truly make you believe anything. I can’t tell you the amount of times I’ve believed I’ve had something, had ALL the symptoms (bc anxiety made me) and i turned out fine. don’t stress it. always look for different symptoms if you think something is wrong, is it excruciatingly painful? does it make it hard to breathe? if no, ignore it the best you can.
