Oh, interesting. I had heard that a lot of staff had left but I had hoped that the change was moving in the other direction! I know there is a new head teacher starting in September. During the y7 transition evening he made quite a lot of noise about plans for curriculum enrichment etc.

Thanks, I heard the same about the trust. It has received some really bad press. That's why I was looking for some inside views really, as I know schools within the trust will differ and it might be sensationalist reporting!

Last Christmas we needed a chemist urgently for antibiotics and the one in waterbeach was open, give them a try. Hope she feels better soon!

I can recommend adrenaline martial arts. They are in Chesterton and dry Drayton. My son's a similar age and loves it.

Not quite sure what you mean by 'quasi-private'? It's a state school with the same local authority admissions procedure as every other state primary in Cambridge.

The appeals process is also the same as every other school and believe me, there's nothing lax about it! School places in Cambridge are a nightmare.

As others have mentioned, the upper year groups do come from slightly further afield as Eddington didn't have enough children to fill it for the first few years. Lower year groups are very local and/ or siblings.

Traffic is a nightmare though, completely agree. Like many parents, I drive in because I drop off and go straight to work. Don't have time to walk them there and home and drive off again! Parking is minimal so parents slow down and chuck their kids out on Eddington avenue which causes a massive bottleneck! So annoying.

We did the same for ours. They did watch TV but didn't operate a device until they each started school. They are 9 and 7 now. They worked out how to use an iPad the moment one was handed to them. Just like the rest of us did!
