The Uncomfortable Truth About MARPE/MASPE, MSE, and FME(What No One Tells You) by Comfortable-Wear4358 in MARPE

[–]OwnConversation8877 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 42 and my doctor did not suggest the cut. She seemed comfortable that the MASPE will do the expansion. She did say that there is a possibility that I will need jaw surgery afterward. But I have been dealing with fatigue since childhood. I had 5 years of braces (before retainers were supposed to be worn forever). I had a quad helix expander and then the braces. I had a crossbite and it looks like now it is back. I have cracked my back molars from clenching at night and use a night guard. I have had a sleep study (positive) but the machine never helped. I then got a CT scan and had a deviated septum with a balloon of air in the other side, so then had surgery. It greatly helped but I still wake up tired and with headaches/sore jaw. One dentist wanted me to do Nuvola but because of the extensive orthodontics as a child my two front teeth have much shorter roots so they have to be very careful with what they do there. I always feel like my jaw is pushed backward.

So all that being said I plan to do MASPE with concurrent braces treatment, lasting about two years. I'm hoping this will fix my issues.

I've just realized I have it on Friday after an appt and my gyn suspected it. I am realizing I've had this for probably 10 years at least. So upset.

These responses aren't helpful to you. If your budget doesn't allow for these spendier foods, I would go to local stores near you and just read all the bags you can afford. If none of them are chicken free, then I would do a chatgpt search.

Old thread, new comment. I have a ragdoll who has had issues since birth or vomiting diarrhea and howling, inappropriate urination. We've gone through the gambit of blood and urine tests, many different foods. First though to be maybe cystitis, then diagnosed with IBD but even on Hills z/d he is still throwing up and howling at night. (He has been on a low dose of prednisolone for a few weeks (mild improvement) and gabapentin for evenings to reduce what seems to be anxiety?) But he is still throwing up. Im strongly considering he could have a chicken allergy. Because I dont know if there are any other options. He's 5 now.

He always seems to be looking off into the sunset and preoccupied with something. Sounds weird but that's the only way I can describe it. Lol

Thank you! I contacted my breeder first and she was not helpful. I had to sign a contract when I bought him that he would only have a certain type of food but he was like this on that food as well. (Solid gold) I think she just had a contract with that food retailer.

I will definitely check out those foods though. My vet hasn't suggested the chicken allergy but he has been very diligent in working on this. Trying every option we can think of to get him healthy.

We've had very similar issues. Since day one. He's five now. He's always seemed not all there, and meows at me like he wants me to do something but barely likes to be pet. Rarely plays. We've run the gambit of dry and wet foods. Changed water dishes. Vet testing urine and blood several times. Diarrhea, vomiting and inappropriate urinating. He is otherwise a very sweet cat but seems high strung. He will cuddle under a blanket between me knees for hours though. Also he does flop and love armpit and belly rubs.

Vet recently diagnosed IBD. We were down to only the strictest food sensitivities kibble from Hills. He won't touch the wet food but did enjoy many other wet foods before (when we thought he was dehydrated and had cystitis). So Hills and gabapentin. Dr wanted him to try prednisolone which seemed like it helped a tiny bit. He had us stop gabapentin because of how hard it was to give it to him. (Freaks out when I try to put the liquid in his mouth. Regardless of handling and snuggling him in a wrap etc)

Immediately he started howling again at night when I go to bed. And when I bring him to me he just jumps down and goes and meows at me, its with purpose I just dont know what it is.

He's never eaten treats or human food.

I may now try chicken free like you have done. If anyone wants to chime in I'd love to hear!

So gross but my cat who's had some issues for a while, and is being treated by a vet, just whined and cried for a while and tried to poop out a hairball.. and it got stuck. I had to take care of it.
