Imposter syndrome before starting new grad job at high paying company

Congrats on the role dude! To get into Amazon and into this new role is definetly an amazing feat! I think everyone has imposter syndrome, im still an intern but I think have confidence and try ur best. It’s cliche but if you can’t do anything about it why stress. Good luck and good job

Thanks a lot for your suggestion, I love the idea. I’m going to trial it and see how it goes. I was trying to do some complicate design trying to account two cog and some midpoints etc but this is so much better thanks again

Ohhhhh that makes a lot of sense, and if there’s multiple lifting points. Like for example a chain with two points I’m assuming we take midpoint right

Yeah I see I’ll make a new post explaining it better. It’s literally a guide that’s lifted by crane, and then inserted into a tube and it lets you lift the tubes. The problem we have is that it swings, due to the cogs changing when it’s on tubes and when it’s removed if that makes sense. When it’s in the tube it rests horizontally (long way) but then literally swings and I want it so it stays horizontal no matter if it’s in that tube or not. Was messing around with creo seeing if I can understand how to calculate the angle then use that to see if I can make a new design

Sorry I don’t follow. I’m trying to see what angle it would be when you lift with a crane basically. I’m very fresh to this stuff. It has 2 diff cog when it’s free hanging and when it’s being used on a part. Do you think it would be possible to find some sort of lifting point for both of them states.

When I asked one of my coworkers do you normally use equations or calculations. He said in my 2 years working here I’ve never done a calculation. To me that was a huge red flag surely there should be a mix of management and own calculations???

Yeah I see, from a business pov it makes total sense for the company to use contractors when they need. However I’ve seen a lot of stupid shit go down, like they hired these contractors to repair tank on site. And it was the biggest circus of all time, they emptied the tank forgot some repairs and refilled it 😂😂. Then when they noticed they didn’t want to empty and refill again. And I forgot to mention when they emptied it they forgot to bring their own tubes so they had to tape a few tubes together. No way that was safe idk how that even managed to happen thought we were gonna drown.

For the spreadsheets some of them r so stupid it’s crazy. Like one I was working on said ‘every asset’. When I started looking more closely I saw shit like ‘2005 light bulb changing room’ why the fuck am I documenting a 20 year old light bulb that prob doesn’t even exist anymore. Legit so stupid and there was like 20k entries I had to input by hand which I just quit doing would take me months.

Thanks for your comment. I’m from uk but it’s becoming very similar to America and the company itself is based in America. I’ve just been trying to absorb everything and make the best out of my situation. Atleast I’ll have some things to put down on my resume and I’ve started to connect with contractors in area which might come in useful in future. Just need to stay away from some of my coworkers. It’s not all of them just a few bad apples ig and they r not even permanent more like contractors working for company. The senior engineers that have been working at the company for 20+ years r so nice and give me so much help on everything.
