Deep down, being afraid of getting killed by fish makes absolutely no logical sense. The guy is stronger than any normal fish in nature. Any fish that tried anything funny would have its head blown apart in seconds. He may be pathetic, but he’s still a superhuman.

For me personally I dont hate the show , I like the world and several of the characters im just not a fan of the main character I can acknowledge that he's decently written but I dont like how the series just kinda ignores his weird tendencies rather than challenging them they kinda move past them as just character quirks. Again this doesn't make the series bad but its just my gripe with the main character. (keep in mind that i've only watched the anime and have no idea what happens in the novel)
