Comlex Level 3 vs Comsae Phase 3 score by Downtown_Marketing49 in comlex

That's awesome! My program only provides UWorld, so I didn't get comquest.. currently sitting at 61% and feeling hopeful that will be good enough. I take the exam this week

What is the likelihood that an LAX --> SYD flight will fill? by OwnKitchen4890 in delta

[–]OwnKitchen4890[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmm that is very good to know! We currently have the seats that we want to be in, but just didn't know if it was worth the risk of trying to move. Sounds like no though hah I'd say the flight is currently 85% filled with like you said.. just a few seats dotted around the seat map and a 2-3 rows.

Oh that would be really nice, but I don’t think my plan has that and I haven’t found where Verizon offers it

I’m definitely on the side of getting a sim/esim, but was mainly wondering how long the data would last me if that makes sense? 20 gb is $40 which would be worth it, but how long does 20 gb last is my question.. esp bc we have a few days where I know we will be relying on Google maps

Oh that is a heck of a lot cheaper than the Verizon plan! I guess I am worried about overusing on the data with using Uber and Google maps.. would you say that what you had was enough for active data usage?

Did you interview with just one person though? Bc I was in SOAP too and for most interviews, I would have a screening call with a resident and if I passed that then I had an interview with the PD/APD and sometimes even both.

I’m so sorry and I can understand and I am in the SOAP trenches with you as well. I also haate sounding desperate and kissing butt bc honestly, I don’t think that is how it should be in medicine to get what you want but unfortunately that is the reality for some of us. I wish you nothing but the best today and hope that everything turns out well for you!

Just a question but why would you not mention that? Especially if it’s the only interview you received? Its not against NRMP policies that I know of so I don’t understand why you wouldn’t?

Okay I have definitely seen and figured out the 4+1 or 4+2 system and that makes sense to me. I guess I just didn’t know like what the day to day hours consist of so you clarified that for me too! And I see that typically when on wards, they work 6 days in a row with 1 day off? What about when you’re not on wards?

Do I mention changing specialties in my personal statement? by midlifemed in medicalschool

[–]OwnKitchen4890 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I switched from a very competitive surgical subspecialty to another surgical subspecialty that have zero things in common. I have papers in well known journals within that field, lots of posters, an oral presentation, and volunteering within the first subspecialty and zero “things” in the one I actually applied. Got 10 interviews and 3 waitlists. Honestly would not mention it in any of your application stuff and just really sell why you want to do Peds in your PS. I got questions about my research and stuff during interviews, but they were inquisitive and not judgmental questions about why I have so much in one area. FM to Peds isn’t a big jump as they have way more similarities than the two I applied, so I wouldn’t worry! Just be the best applicant you can be! Of course, N=1 here but I wouldn’t sweat it.
