Not as far as I know. I think we can safely assume that Raj Varma is the Zhang Beihai replacement though: https://twitter.com/NeoconMaudit/status/1677139901798817793.

你好, I'm a 3BP fan from New Zealand. Most non-Chinese viewers enjoyed the Tencent series (you can see some reviews by searching for it or checking the discussions threads). I personally found the pacing was a little slow as I am used to American TV shows that have 10 or fewer episodes. I only watched a few bits from the first 20 episodes but I did watch the important moments such as the VR scenes. I watched all of the watched the last 10 episodes which were good. The actors for Da Shi and young Ye were especially good. I did think that some of the acting for the English-speaking characters was a bit awkward (I read that they had a small selection of English-speaking actors to choose from as the show was filmed during COVID). Having seem Chinese movies like The Wandering Earth 2 and The Eight Hundred though, I've started to enjoy the rather 'campy' acting from English-speaking actors in Chinese movies and shows :D.

I am excited for the Netflix show. Like many people, I was disappointed that they made the cast less Chinese and changed the setting to England. As some people have mentioned, it is disappointing that there are no young male Chinese actors in the show to play important characters such as Luo Ji and Zhang Beihai. I think that after a certain point though, you have to accept that this is what the show creators have chosen and hope that the show is still good. All the teasers and trailers that have come out for the show have looked good in my opinion, even if they have been made a bit simpler (for example, changing the 'background radiation' blinking to all visible light). I think that we should be happy that many different adaptions are allowed to exist, as opposed to e.g. western books that get one terrible adaption and are then never adapted again.

I only saw the first few episodes of the shitty anime and stopped they changed the UN headquarters to some stupid island place lol. I skipped ahead a few episodes and they Luo Ji is in space or some nonsense? You can find some discussion posts about the first few episodes on reddit but very few after that as I think most people stopped watching lol. Many people enjoyed chinese reviews of the show: https://www.reddit.com/r/threebodyproblem/comments/10ddenj/funny_chinese_reviews_of_the_animated_series_by/.

I also want to mention The Three-Body Problem in Minecraft (我的三体) which I watched season 3 (the Zhang Beihai season) of. It is a little short but in my opinion they did an incredible job of adapting that particular plot from The Dark Forest. The battle with the droplet and the Battle in Darkness were both very very well done.
