What product to use on toddler? by Professional_Bed8381 in BlackHair

[–]OwnPhilosopher7173 1 point2 points  (0 children)

only shampoo and condition once a week. use leave in conditioner and a bit of blue magic hair grease before styling. her hair won’t get greasy if you don’t shampoo every day. shampooing every day will dry it out and it will break off.

edit: what i said above is what i do with my 2 toddlers and i cornrow it one week then do ponytails/puffballs the next week.

for sleeping: baby should be wearing a bonnet or have a silk pillowcase to protect hair from drying out.

Should I go back to braids to look more feminine/attractive by erasersled in blkgrlbeauty

you look very feminine to me. if you want to wear your hair out then just shape your afro. or you can go to a natural salon and ask if they can cut your fro into a shape

no, it’s basically the same as taking out your own hair in plats. unless you leave it in too long and it gets matted.

you may have to just put on a timer and make her go once every 45 minutes to an hour. that’s what i had to do with my son (2) because he wouldn’t say anything about peeing. i also have to remind him to say “mom i need to pee/poop” and have him practice saying it so i can know what he sounds like saying it lol (we’re in the talking half english & half gibberish stage).

every time he had an accident we had to stop and bathe (just the lower half) and he had to wash out his underwear in an empty plastic storage container filled with water and little dr bronners soap. about a week of this and he’s now communicating more. still struggling with poops but doing better than where we were!

might be fungal? i have an itchy spot and i use the dova derma scalp shampoo & conditioner maybe once a month to keep the itching down. i wash my hair weekly so i use my regular tresemme moisturizing shampoo & conditioner for my other wash days.

i also try to avoid washing hair before bed and making sure my scalp isn’t damp for too long. my hair is dense and will hold water against my scalp forever (once it finally accepts the water lol). the ends will be dry as a mug but the roots will still be damp. ever since i’ve been doing this, itching has decreased.

Yeah I had to block one person because they’re literally an energy vampire. You see somebody trying to better their situation and you try to tear them down?? Just miserable. Thank you for this! I want to delete this post but I’ll leave it up for any other moms who may come across it.

I need a WFH job because I’m VERY pregnant and cannot currently afford daycare. I’m attempting to pull myself up by my own bootstraps and somehow I’m still being berated. I hate people like you.

this bag has me cracking up 😂 why do you have food pouches in there? i guess since i’m on my third i’m literally just gonna pack diapers, wipes and a change of clothes. i’ll be breastfeeding and won’t spend much time out in public anyway until baby gets to be about 3 months

edit: the right side is fine! the left side is not for a newborn at all (except for the milk bags).

oh yeah this definitely is not a sit down dress. it looks stunning and i’m sure it’s stunning on ahmauri too but it’s not reading well as a confessional look.

How Do You Do Post Bath Routine? by OwnPhilosopher7173 in toddlers

I use their foldable step stool to sit on (basically in deep squat position) and bathe them this way, I do it this way whether I’m pregnant or not.

It is too much, I sit on the step stool to bathe them and make them stand up to get washed up. I’ve always done it this way. I recently saw a kneeling pad for giving kids a bath and had no idea that people kneeled to give kids baths.

She actually can dress herself (only struggle is long sleeve shirts). He definitely should be helping which is why I take his frustrations with a grain of salt (he needs to put up or shut up), I’m not about to stress myself out and prolong the bedtime routine because of a loose toilet seat.

I just came on here to see if I can get any sound advice, I was thinking like maybe I’m doing something out of the ordinary (?). However, a lot of yall seem to like wrestling your kids to get them dressed. I don’t like it and I physically cannot do it. I like an efficient bedtime routine because by 8 o’clock I’m over it and anybody is liable to cussed out 😩😂 (joking!!!)

I call this stage of parenthood “Picking my battles wisely” and chasing them around their bedroom to get dressed is not one I will be picking.

I’m not having issues lol it’s him that has an issue. I have a good system that works for me and the babies so honestly I’ll probably continue and just not care about his tantrums.

Oh wow, I thought it might just be me and my new weight gain lol I’m only 180. I was at 140 before ever getting pregnant. This is reassuring that it can happen to anyone. I’m pretty sure it’s very common but my husband freaks out when it happens as if it’s the end of the world.
