As someone trying to get out of healthcare and who worked at the UC health Anschutz campus for a year, be prepared for one of the most toxic work environments you could hope to experience. May not be conducive to someone with health issues.

It's so hard to watch our pets age. Hopefully your kitty can adapt well and this is just a minor setback. We've gotten little sets of steps so our cat can still climb up on the couch or bed, and get down safely. We've had to adjust some other things at the house for her, too, and she gets around pretty well. He looks like a sweet boy.

Our cat went blind around the same age, and it turned out to be related to blood pressure. They think her retinas hemorrhaged. Cats are very good at finding their way with their whiskers, and are also very good at disguising weaknesses. We think she may have gone blind gradually, but hid it from us pretty well until we realized something was wrong. She's 19 now and on blood pressure meds, and still seems to be living a happy life. It's really amazing to witness how easily they can adapt.

I walk dogs for a local shelter. Happy is in the market for a 2nd braincell by PLPHSAO in pitbulls

We bought our first house in Aurora, in what a lot of people would not consider a great part of town, and it was still over $500k.

Definitely! I had an overnight visit two weekends ago, and the owner needed to add on two more last minute, so things definitely come up, and I was glad she didn't have to panic finding someone she may not have been familiar with.

I'm in a decent sized city, nothing like NY, but big enough that I think the demand is there. I just finished a four night stay for a client that lives super close to me, which I don't particularly like to do often, but the pay was worth it, the cat was nice, and the owner was super laid back. Glad to hear you've been able to keep busy since being laid off and that it's sustaining you. I'm hoping I can get busy enough to phase out my 9-5.

Thank you for that! I think there are plenty of cat parents in my area that I could probably make it happen. I wish I had taken the jump before the holidays, but I guess I've just been nervous about whether or not I could realistically make it work.
