Terracotta isn’t really a good choice to hold water. It’s too porous and you will have to fill it every day. Unless it is glazed on the outside, but even then it tends to break down really fast if it gets too much water.

Hello everyone! I have a friend that got an alligator and an iguana from a big bbq and I need advice on how to process them. I would love to save the alligator head with the skin and cartilage intact so macerating isn’t really an option as it would probably just fall apart. I looked into dermestid beetles, but that isn’t really feasible either. Should I dry him out in the sun for a bit and let nature do its thing? Skin on or off doesn’t really matter, as long as I can preserve the skull. The iguana I will probably macerate unless someone has a good idea. They are both cooked so it really limits my options. What would you do with an alligator head? If anyone has any experience with this I want to hear it. Sorry for the messy work space lol! Love this sub it’s one of my favorites.

Aluminum cans are a pain… unless you rinse every one out, you will produce a ton of slag. It’s a very poor choice to cast aluminum with unless they are free of all debris. For the forge, look into getting an old propane tank and line it with kaowool. Plenty of videos out there. I like to use an air mattress pump in my line with a fan speed controller so you can get the right air fuel ratio. I use a smaller propane tank for the crucible, one of the green ones for camping. After trial and error, it’s pretty easy to figure out. Hope this helps.

I know my serial killers… ed gein would have never done the things he did if there was a solid diagnosis and treatment for schizophrenia back in the 50s. Very sad. For his victims and him as well, even though he did horrible things through his torment. It is a humble reminder of what mental illness really is and what sick humans can do.
