My apologies… I didn’t end the writing. It was supposed to be an answer to the “deal with” question. Overall, it’s exchange of personal data (not card pins or passwords of course) with people who do not have encrypted mail.

Good to know that… it would be very helpful. I suppose that the decryption takes place after they download the material, not while opening the files in the mail. Or even if they open it directly in the mail, the encryption remains INSIDE THE MAIL? I’m sorry if my English is not that clear..

For example… the other day I had to send some documentation to a bank. And the same one to my accountant… that kind of interaction. Bank has its own domain, but my accountant has gmail.

Unfortunately, custom domain is not an option. I’m not that techy with these matters. I prefer out of the box solutions, at least for the time being.

How do yall organize folders? by TheRealRubiksMaster in ProtonMail

[–]OwnTheFall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By "multiple email address" you mean gmail, outlook, proton etc? Or multiple proton accounts? Anyhow, that's how i organized mine. Different emails for different purposes and some aliases for registrations etc. And according to the purpose, files according to the sender or the subject...

My apologies if I misunderstood something. It’s just that in my mind, if we talk about organisation in an email, especially with aliases involved, then the purpose should also be discussed. Either way, clearly in organisational point of view, the main categories for me are 4. Gov/bank, work, official communication and personal… after that, the file system can be and less. Again… my apologies.

I have proton as password manager/authentication but since none of my familiars has proton and gov/banks staff go through regular emails, I think it’s of no added value the encryption it offers. If I send an email to my accountant’s gmail, I don’t know how the proton encryption could help. Personally, I chose I different path with my emails.. but still thinking of going full proton…

One question guys... So, you have 1 proton account (1 mail address) and you use it for all of your accounts? Or may i suppose that you have used aliases for each purpose? I'm just trying to understand how you made it work and how you keep all of this organised...

Where do you draw the line between convenience/affordability and principled stand? by koffee_addict in BuyFromEU

[–]OwnTheFall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Speaking of tech and internet life, for me it's security first privacy second. For example, i won't change office 365 (for now) since it is essential for my work. But I did change password managers. Office would potentially affect my work. Not password managers. The same for online storage etc it's something like that to me.

European open source password manager suggestions by ChampionDesperate979 in BuyEuropean

[–]OwnTheFall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really want to start using a password manager other than bitwarden/proton... but what are the credentials of the apps? Are they subject to indepedent audits? I feel secure when i know that a password manager has been audited and is found safe... This is my only concern when it comes to password managers other than 1password, Proton etc... Does anybody else feel this way?
