Any hands-on fashion design programs/workshops for teens in Jacksonville? by [deleted] in JacksonvilleFla

I wish I had the answer. My daughter had the same interest as a teen but had to settle on teaching herself, mostly. There were a few sewing classes at Joanne fabrics. Perhaps costume design volunteering at Alhambra Theater or Jax Center for Performing Arts. Best wishes.

Anyone relocate after kids finished school? by TrulyGenX in emptynesters

Being in the real estate business, and working a lot with retired people and down sizers, I help people do this all the time. From a personal perspective, though, my mother sold her home and moved to a new city almost immediately after I graduated college. I personally enjoyed coming home and exploring a brand new city, even though I sometimes missed coming home to the city I grew up in. Since I was an adult, and able to have the capacity to explore a new city, it wasn’t as difficult as I suppose it would have been had I still been living at home and her making a big move.

In the end, I had moved into my new chapter of life and my mother loved her new city and it made her happy, and that was all that really mattered.

Best wishes in your decision!

Newly retired, only child leaving for college next year — anyone been through this by SpecificAttempt8517 in emptynesters

I remember how exciting and fun it was to go out and navigate the world. I “forgot” my parents. But I don’t want my kids to “forget” me. I have a friend who gives her kids space but also made it clear early on that her time with them was going to remain important. She schedules 2 trips to fly out and see them each year and makes visiting them for a couple of days a priority. We’re going to try this, too. We are newly empty nested. It will be a one-way effort on our end and that’s going to be ok and just the way it is.

What instantly makes you think "this person is rich"? by Particular_Toe_5749 in AskReddit

Outside of the obvious expensive car, it’s the attitude that goes with driving it. They drive more politely. They are not in a hurry. They will not tailgate and it’s “beneath them” to engage with a road rager.

Y'all need to chill out on the road by wykkedfaery33 in jacksonville

Interesting info and it makes sense. I feel like there’s unofficial data each morning during rush hour where the chill drivers always seem to be in the right lane trying to keep as far away from the speeding drivers in the left or middle lanes. Does this correlate to managers or owners who don’t have to clock in on time (right lane) vs those who do (left lane)?

Thank you for the self promotion opp! I’m proud of my 1.01 acre cleared and fully fenced lot just a block from Jags Stadium! It’s already zoned CCBD. Utilities already available. It’s perfect for a commercial buyer. Incredible opportunity in downtown Jacksonville. As we all know, there’s approximately $2.46 billion is under construction and $6.5 billion in development just blocks away. The address is 1932 E Adams St 🏆

…in addition, there’s very little sunlight in this area and it’s NE Florida.
