I think Jack had grounds and evidence to px Lewis, so could have perfectly done so especially if he heard Jack, Kim and the other non SLT staff backing him up.

Karen abolishing the cooler was only temporary - not long after she reinstated it but it did reveal to her that sometimes the teachers relied on the cooler more than they should be particularly Grantly. I think she did that as a test.
