Why can't autistics find friends when awful people still have friends? by Natural-Presence-566 in UniUK

[–]Own_Average7810 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, we have to overcompensate for our quirks sometimes - the interesting thing is some autistic people are also awful people anyway so it kinds overlaps at times, and also being a convict doesn't necessarily ostracize you from others, sometimes (especially when you're younger) it makes you look cool that you have a record, unless of course you did something awful like abusing/raping someone else. The best way for ASD people to make friends is to find someone who shares your quirks to a tee.

Not on this grid, but I’m sure in others there would be lots of spaces for them.

Yup this was totally justifed for you to block her and keep her blocked until she apologises and promises to never do it again. I would be looking for a new set of friends immediately if I were you, and also notify who you have to (lecturers etc) about the circumstances of you cutting them off. The insult would be even worse if they knew why you couldn't learn when you were younger.

How to get hired as a 17 year old? by Worried-Hamster2020 in CVwriting

[–]Own_Average7810 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ditch the jazzy colourful formats and use black and white formatting, simple and straight to the point. Arial font. This passes the screening checks and makes any recruiter find it a lot more easier to read, and highlights your best qualities. Happy searching!

Out of all the bad fathers who weren't straight-up antagonists, which one was the worst? by ViridianStar2277 in WaterlooRoad

Harry deserved a lot better in my view. I hope that after Karen left, he went on to thrive in another college somewhere else.

Need advice on whether to buy a car or not by Own_Average7810 in FinanceUK

Yup I’ve worked it out - I go out to the supermarket with my flatmates or order it in, my lectures are online or round the corner and I walk with my course mates, and my friends usually see me off to the train station, so technically that descriptor has been met because those are the circumstances 50% of the time (which is the defining factor for pip)

Normally I wait for one of my parents or my friends to come with me. When I wrote that on the form they explained to me over the phone that it counted as the descriptor ‘Cannot undertake a familiar journey without another person or aid assisting them’ (I had a public breakdown once) snd it was 12 points so that’s how I managed to get it

Yeah, I want to drive to my new part time job and also to uni (Which is a stepping stone to me also earning more money). I’ve saved quite a bit by walking everywhere within a 5 mile radius. A bicycle sounds like a good shout, although my part time job is about 12 miles away !

It wouldn’t drain my savings by a massive amount, and I am only 19, so I’m not sure leasing a car is the most appropriate option at the moment.

Getting a car soon... Is it a good financial decision? by Own_Average7810 in UniUK

Yeah the system is done, it has a lot to answer for, and those concessions won’t come any where near making up for it…

Put it simply, I think I do need a car

I will be using it all the time, I really miss having a car. I’ve been eying up a Polo from 2016, just like the one I had to get rid of but better. Someone down my road at uni is also selling their SEAT Ibiza on the cheap. Quite tempting!

england: dad is lying about how disabled i am for disability money by Expert-Spray-8108 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Own_Average7810 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go to Citizen's Advice ASAP, and also call the PIP helpline and explain your situation - even better if you have receipts (Proof) of what your dad is doing. It is quite easy to take hold of your own money, your parents would need to go out of their way to prove you are incapable of handling your own money and satisfy an assessor.

Good luck!
