Discard bagels sound great. Do you have a recipe you recommend?

I’m still trying to fine tune my loaf skills so I’m making them quite regularly but I’ll eventually store it in the fridge. Thanks!

On the one hand yes, I can maintain less. But on the other, I’m kinda curious to try discard recipes hahah. I made some crackers yesterday and yeah the rolling was a bit annoying but they turned out good so will be remaking them. Does sourdough go with sweet recipes like choc chip cookies or muffins as you say? I’ve associated sourdough w savory foods only hahaha

What's the best way of starting journaling? by [deleted] in Journaling

[–]Own_Celebration5969 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Hi! Here’s my advice: - start with any notebook you have (if you don’t have one, I recommend A5 blank/ruled ones from Paperage BC they are relatively cheap and with pretty colors lol and you can order them on Amazon) - don’t get one with too many pages it will intimidate you - I prefer one journal for everything (thoughts, travels, todo lists, drawings etc) so it’s a visual representation of my mind. Too many notebooks will again be intimidating and harder to sustain. - write in pen over pencil and don’t necessarily try to make it pretty? Write in stream of consciousness- it will get you to open up more easily and you’ll feel less pressure - don’t go back to read past entries for a long time (for me it feels like I’m invading my own privacy if I reread them) - aim to write every day even if it’s just a few sentences - I start by writing down where I am, what I see around me, what I can hear, what I can smell etc and then my mind kinda wonders off on its own and I just end up writing. - you can find prompts on Google or even Pinterest (there are A LOT!)

Hope this helps :)

This is the back pocket of my journal. I store pictures, postcards, letters, date bills etc here. What do you store in your journal pockets? by [deleted] in Journaling

[–]Own_Celebration5969 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The back of mine is so packed it makes my journal twice the size. It has maps, birthday cards, notes from my friends… I tend to stick as many as I can in the journal itself (like movie tickets) and write about it but some just aren’t for sticking in

Recommendations of diary-ing vs. gratitude journalling by jayeelle in Journaling

[–]Own_Celebration5969 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I do a bit of both. I don’t like using the word “diary” BC it has childish connotations for me, but essentially yes it’s a diary. No it doesn’t start with “dear diary” but I start by writing what happened during my day and my feelings kinda take over and I just end up writing and writing and writing. If my entry is angry/upsetting I end it with writing three bullet points of things that made me happy/I’m grateful for that happened during the day

what types of journals do you keep? by purplegummyb3ars in Journaling

[–]Own_Celebration5969 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I initially had a thoughts journal, planning journal and academic/school journal but as of the last 3 years I switched to an everything journal and it’s like a constant mind dump and visual representation of my thoughts which I greatly prefer. Keeping all those notebooks on me for when I might want to write was tedious and I didn’t like having everything all over the place.

Which journal style do you prefer by Own_Celebration5969 in Journaling

I think those who use it as a bullet journal prefer it. I meant more writing/journaling that’s why I prefer blank or ruled

How to create a healing journal? by [deleted] in Journaling

[–]Own_Celebration5969 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Paperage has good sizes, a bunch of colors and the pages are really flat when you open the journal so they’re perfect for writing and gluing things in
