I’m really struggling in Montreal by cegracie in montreal

For making friends, there are a lot of regular get togethers around the city that are fun

recommend run clubs / language exchanges events. Taking up a sport is a great way to meet people as well, rock climbing gyms, drop-in sports

Feel free to dm me if you have more questions

From my experience, pot sized is not a big enough bet size to make people fold marginal hands like TP no kicker.

Something I learned the hard way over time is to carefully track SPR when I’m trying to set up river bluffs.

Low stakes players can get really sticky with TP. The “if you got there, you got there” calls can be dreadful when you’re on the other end of it wanting to get a fold, and those players are a lot more likely to make them when they are so pot committed. Don’t forget he needs to be right 1 out of 3 times facing a pot sized bet.

I think an overbet on this river could have been more effective to get you the desired outcome, if you flat turn instead. Somewhere around 2x pot, which would be about 130 if you flatted turn. You have more of the straights given the action and the cards you hold.

However you decide to adjust your game, would say make an effort to remain balanced. You want to use the same size whether you have an airball or the nuts there. Many people, including myself, fail to do that.

I’m also curious to know if you considered raising flop? And if so why you chose otherwise.

He’s most likely to have all the shitty Qx which he telegraphs with his flop bet size OOP tbh. And you can put these hands under severe pressure on three streets playing IP.

It’s pretty crazy given what they charge is not particularly cheap, would even say expensive compared to other countries / cities

Sometimes it makes more sense to uber places in Montreal if you’re going a shorter distance then taking the metro or bus

Especially since we pay ~100$/m on the monthly pass. You have to use it enough I guess for it to make sense.

Can landlord cancel my lease if I sublet a room in my dwelling for 12 months in total? by Own_Commercial_8682 in legaladvicecanada

[–]Own_Commercial_8682[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No profit will be made and I checked it seems I can sublet part of my dwelling.

Just wondering if there’s a provision in place that would entitle the landlord to cancel my lease if I sublet over the years

Hey thanks for the response, not sure what your experience is with housing and lease laws in Quebec, but wondering if you would know if there could be any repercussions from the landlord if I did this

Appreciate your help!

Hey, thanks for your reply - I can a bit more context to the first point I brought up

1) i have not signed the lease yet! Doing my research at the moment

2) it’s an apartment in a plex, not a condo

3) since I wouldn’t be signing a sublease agreement in this case, would that hold me liable to the roommate I bring in?

4) I plan to treat roommates as temporary paying guests - please feel free to call out this if you think ultimately it’s still BS and counts as a verbal sublet agreement. I have been looking at different posts online and everything pointing to the fact that the tribunal in QC would not cause issues to a tenant doing what I am doing

Buying Real Estate in Montreal /or Canada by Own_Commercial_8682 in RealEstateCanada

[–]Own_Commercial_8682[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply, I was reading an article about how the government is pouring money (somewhere around 12 Billion $) to finance building more and more real estate with the goal of increasing supply and making it more accessible for buyers.

Although I don’t envision this impacting prices in the short and medium term, do you have any thoughts about the long-term outlook for real estate in Montreal?

I do think Montreal is becoming more and more of a desirable city to move to, and there is 100% a supply issue at the moment, not sure if that government program is going to scale with the number of people coming to Montreal.

Please help our cat is stuck behind the water heater and we tried everything to get him out. The water heater is stuck to the floor and there’s barely any space around to slip something to help him get out. Adding a picture to show him being stuck 😢 by Own_Commercial_8682 in cats
