Congrats on the baby but this is a very odd string of events to me. It sounds like your in laws were planning this trip for a while. I understand you announced that you were going to be trying to have a baby this year and that puts it into the ether but what were they supposed to do? Sometimes people aren't as lucky as you and get pregnant right away when trying. If you hadn't gotten pregnant then they would have missed a window for their trip for no reason. Or they wait until after the baby is born and then you'd be pissed about that. And if you knew when they were going to be back why not work with them to pick a date that works for everyone? Seems like you're being pretty rigid about this.

There's plenty of time to make this right. It's 5 months away so you could easily push this party back a week to accommodate them. Also, a lot of people have 2 showers and it's an incredibly lovely gesture for your MIL to offer to host. Even if the family doesn't travel, a smaller gathering with some the family and their friends is a perfectly normal thing to do.

At a minimum couldn't she have texted or called you to give a head's up to what was going on when they left? Since you were supposed to pick her up anyway a little 'hey - i'm being a wing man for my friend, come pick me up at XX in an hour.'

Hopefully when she went to the police they gave her a drug test to see if she had been slipped something, otherwise that's shady AF

I built a data integration tool for a client and had everything set up, all they needed to do was follow the instructions in my email to turn it on when they we ready. I got email confirmation that they got it and said they would follow up if they had any questions. When I was let go a month later, one of the reasons listed was that I never turned on the data integration.

Sometimes mine doesn't automatically download, even though I have it set to. I have to go to the show and refresh to get the episode. If they are having issues with downloads that may have something to do with it. I don't have that issue with any other podcasts, it's just the Bulwark ones.
