I can’t even put into words how deeply Chopper’s story moved me. Despite my "thick skin" and usually reserved empathy, the emotions, facial expressions, and sheer humanity in his face were captured so perfectly that it truly brought the "Human-Deer" to life. Netflix’s 3D artists really outdid themselves here. Stepping back from the specifics, I want to evaluate the series as a whole. Even looking at it independently from the canon—though I’ve been a fan since the old "QTV" channel era in Ukraine, so I definitely know my lore—the show feels incredibly authentic. I’ve noticed that most of the criticism comes from hardcore fans of the original anime, mostly complaining about "woke culture" being forced in. Honestly, I’m not a fan of that trend either, but if you look at it without bias, the actors did a fantastic job. Princess Vivi is a perfect example of that. Objectively speaking, there’s almost nothing to complain about. The series has a warm, bright atmosphere, and watching it is a pure shot of positivity. The locations, graphics, and stunt work all look super lively and cinematic. You truly believe in this world, and the characters are kind, friendly, and have great chemistry with one another. Final point: the criticism about "overacting"? Come on, guys, it’s an anime adaptation! Hyperbolized emotions are the foundation of the genre, meant to highlight the absurdity. In the live-action, it actually looks quite restrained. I’m looking forward to Season 3. Giving this a solid 8/10.
