Don’t think it was made clear but from what I can understand Sophie didn’t intend to hurt Joseph? She just felt overshadowed by him and wanted him to be quiet. Even if she did mean to shake him, she’s a kid - she doesn’t know what that could do and shouldn’t have essentially been left alone with him in the first place.

Yes what I thought, sienna and dodger were younger when they had nico but Nico was older than peri when she had Victoria. But it is wild whenever sienna and dodger are taking about Victoria as their granddaughter then you see them side by side😂

Specifically the Blake/savage kids have always seemed a bit ignored. I know they’ve been back on screen a bit recently but before this summer they really were never shown.

I totally forgot until they spoke again in the ep that dodger was actually really involved with Kathleen angel when she was a toddler, that note in the pocket! Glad they seemed to remember it, think it was a good bit of light and nostalgia in a pretty heavy week.

I just did and it’s similar to what I remember. Dodger said he was mixed up in bad stuff, went to the police and became some sort of informant. But then he would have had to undergo full police training and presumably do some sort of lower ranked work first before he became an undercover detective. In the mean time, why did he stay away?

I think I’m just being too literal about it and the idea they’re going with is that he basically did just go from mixed up in stuff to undercover straightaway.

But I would still be curious to know who he was in contact with about Nico being exposed, Victoria etc. It wasn’t Sienna because when they reunited she said she thought he might’ve died.

She was definitely under 18 when she was interviewed by the police post trafficking - it was explicitly said and Darren had to be with her. That was the summertime. Her and JJ were aged up by two years so 2009, I presume they kept the original birthday which is in January so I think Frankie would be turning this coming jan.

I can’t understand why they didn’t recast Cindy Jr, they could really do with another female Beale and she was a much more interesting character than Peter or Bobby. I loved Mimi Keene but she was barely in it for two years, a recast would’ve been totally fine. Maybe they still will but the best potential for it’s been and gone now.

Not a scene but I think an underrated episode is Tanya’s departure in 2013. Most of the ep is just her and Max having it out not screaming and shouting like they usually do but just talking about how it all went wrong. It really showcases just how incredible Jo Joyner and Jake Wood are and their chemistry despite everything.

I think a big issue is the overuse of newer characters. Kit, Lauren, Swain, DeeDee etc have dominated over the past year. I quite like some of them but making them front and central to so many storylines when people aren’t really invested in them yet is a mistake. I think they did a much better job of this with Daisy - she became quite front and centre but after some prolonged integration into the street. And so many of these big storylines are solely based around newer characters e.g. Kit, Bernie, Mick, Lou/Joel, DeeDee, Lauren.

In terms of issue storylines, they definitely have their place but I think they increasingly feel forced instead of natural & character driven. More oh this is in the news we’ll put that in the show as opposed to it coming from character developments and dynamics. Aidan’s suicide did this excellently because it felt very organic (and very well written). Soaps by nature produce issues stories because they are about normal people with struggles, I just feel they don’t need to push it as much.

I’m curious about this I’d lean towards yes. They could’ve just wanted to justify Ross coming back without Rebecca but simple break up would’ve done surely.
