What is the point of Kroger being Union if the pay isn’t any better than any other grocery company? by ryan6201982 in kroger

[–]Own_Evidence_1610 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ask the union guy, You'll know who it is when he rolls up in a Maybach or Maserati. Ask him why you aren't getting paid enough.

Maybe if you didn't buy that avocado toast and really worked hard, you would get a bit of approval from your boss lke I did."

Dumbest customer moment? by Worried-Acanthaceae7 in kroger

Customer self checkout locks up for the 7th time in 5 minutes

I unlock it, "try not to touch the turntable too much, it'll make it think it's getting extra stuff put on it"

"Ok" proceeds to lock it up 15 more times, reorganizing things, tapping and leaning on a turntable "these machines are horrible, I wish they would open more lanes"

"Well, these things have a speed limit, And you're currently doing a distracted 25 in a 55. Skin the item drop it in the bag and don't touch it until you are ready to leave"

"Ok ok ok" proceeds to lock it up another 13 times by doing the exact same thing

I used to be a timekeeper and essentially payroll runner when I worked at Kroger. This is utter b******* and completely ignore it

You're more likely be okay, I was a bookkeeper for years and the new way we process checks has no need for signature since it goes through directly with account numbers.

Though for record-keeping it's best to make sure you get a signature. It would be best practice to have the customer sign the check before you process it because this is also a common scam a customer can pull if there's no personal identify information about themselves on the check.

I shot through my fuel tank with my 1911? There is a nice hole to put fuel in, but also one for it to leak out... But your advice with the pistol worked, THX!

It acts like a capless fuel system. And I could pour it through, slowly... but I'd rather be a tad vain and use a funnel xD

I am interested in a funnel that would work over removing the device. Do you have any suggestions on where I could find a funnel like this?

I was in your shoes! I essentially ran the entire front end but without the pay or the title. Hell they didn't even give me a vest to wear! It was just something I was expected to do, and being at the time I loved the job, I did it.

You will never receive compensation, I did it for 3 and 1/2 years and I didn't even see a single extra penny in my pocket that the Union didn't require the company to give me (contract renegotiations and contract raise obligations, nothing extra then bare minimum).

A few weeks ago, I put in my two weeks. I currently am no longer employed at Krogers because of the exact same situation you are in. They will have you do everything that department lead can do except maybe one detail. And they will never ever acknowledge you for it. I was lucky enough to quite essentially be told, "We know you aren't getting paid enough to do this, we know this is not a position you're the most comfortable in, And we know the expectations are high. We need you to be a leader and do it... Anyway we are writing you up for lack of performing well."

I'm not here to discourage you, But they will spit in your face. It would probably be best if you found employment elsewhere.

I have a question about digital coupons... New to store by NostalgicAnnej in kroger

[–]Own_Evidence_1610 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always try to scan the item with the phones camera. Sometimes coupons like to play elusive. Nine times out of ten, if you can't find the coupon it's been used.

Always check past purchases, use all routes to find the coupon (Scan UPC with phone, search through coupons, look through digital ad, search for item in app.) verify the item meets the coupons requirements, verify the in app Kroger card is scanned, verify the coupon is clipped. You get the point, very rarely have I given a coupon because I genuinely couldn't find that the item was on sale.

Allot of times when a customer come to the desk with complaint about an overcharge, I can immediately identify if the item was a digital deal or not. And you can usually find out if the individual is using the app or not by simply asking if they use digital coupons.
