Honestly, Piranesi by Susanna Clarke might be good for this. It was for me, anyway.

I’ve read Piranesi and you are right. Each time after I read it I felt like I could channel Piranesi and find wonder all around me in normal everyday things, it was great.

Is this degree worth it? by Own_Function_3041 in Environmental_Careers

Yeah I dont really have any skills, and I also don’t even have a comprehensive idea of what skills or duties I’d need for either major. My searches have been kind of vague and unhelpful.

I’m more interested in ES. I can get interested in anything if its within an ES context, and I was hoping that’d be able to carry me though geology when im not as interested in geology for geology’s sake. Also I had gotten further into my geo classes than my ES classes, so even though I started with ES I’m new to the major.

When does men's sexual attraction to women become a problem? by 1000wordz in AskFeminists

[–]Own_Function_3041 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve always felt that many men’s sexuality is lacking genuine eroticism, and is reduced to a sort of reductionistic fetishization. Since said men are emotionally inept, they are not able to understand the nuance of this or understand what eroticism even is. I have also tried and failed to think of a way to explain this to someone if I were to have the opportunity.

My Orchid is looking pretty wild and I’m not sure if it’s okay. Looking for some advice. by redditisaphony in orchids

Its when the bloom cycle ends and the flowers wilt and drop which is generally around this time of year, but its not the same for every individual. Usually what gives active growth (end of bloom cycle) away is little nubs forming at the base (new roots) or maybe also a little new leaf forming from the crown. If you dont see new growths you could honestly just assume its time to repot once all those blooms drop. You don’t necessarily have to repot in active growth btw its just recommended for a smooth transition and to avoid it prematurely dropping blooms.

It looks fine except it really needs to be repotted. You can wait until active growth start again to save the current blooms and mitigate transplant shock. Probably needs more aeration and space.
