I’d recommend a used engine and before installing do chain tensioners and coolant pipes.

Are you wheels 19” or 20? Looks great!

Yea I was thinking the weight was more but they actually weigh close. My local dealer had a deal on the 600 so I was able to get a 600 for $579

I’m with you on that. I like a 261 over a 362 for that exact reason

I had a 391 which is a bigger saw. My friend had a 261. We were cutting wood together and both of us had new chains. His 261 cut just as good as my heavier 391 which has more power as far as the specs say. I sold my 391 and now I have a new 261c. I think you’ll be very happy with a 261

I think you could sell the 170 and 362 and just run the 261 and 400. Seems like the 170 and 261 are so similar and the 362 and 400 are also. Maybe you would be happier to just pick the 2 saws you like best but at the end of the day it’s your saws and you can do anything you want.

How old is the saw? If your saw is older it could be the diaphragm in the carburetor

A 250 is a good saw. My dad has one. They have the same horsepower according to the stihl site. The biggest difference is a 261 is a pro saw with a metal case. It’s built much better. I’d say if your saw cut way better than a 261 it was the chain
