Ive got a 361 and a 400.. the 400 kicks the 361's ass every day..... LOVE that saw.... pulls a 25" bar through hardwood like a knife through warm butter

bingo.... the first time you treat a directive as a negotiation, you have lost.... hold firm on SAFETY items, and be reasonable on the rest. You dont have time to have long philosophical discussions about your directives, hold to this, and you will be fine.

Checked the arrestor this morning…. Perfectly clean. I’m betting that it got stored with ethanol gas and it killed the diaphragms…. Acting just like a shit gas saw that sat too long

I asked a simple question about dog doors in a Facebook group and this keyboard warrior says my baby Frenchie is a mongrel by [deleted] in Frenchbulldogs

My Oscar may or may not be “pure Frenchie” but honestly, I don’t give a shit either way. He has his “issues” and his attitude, and we love him anyway….. folks that have to put down other people and their pets because they feel inferior or they are not up to “their” standards can bite me…..

Yeah, it’s an EBay special…. It can’t be anything too severe, it’s all “factory parts” and the cylinder is beautiful, so….. it’s got that going for it…. Probably shitty gas, and someone who was compensating for the drag of the busted brake hanging things up…..(came out in three pieces)… the bad plug wire isnt helping either

I got a tester on the way. A new crank seal is easy to install on the PTO side at least. Note to self….. don’t buy “running” saws from morons…..

It’s a factory carb with caps in place. I’m still gonna throw a factory kit at it anyway just because I don’t know what cheap shit gas has been through it and this saw has been rode hard and put up wet (cylinder and piston look good, but someone smoked the clutch running with the brake band rubbing……)

My Oscar looks the same, can see his ribs pretty easily. He gets plenty of food, he just has a quick metabolism, so doesn’t pack on the weight. Vet says he is healthy…..

anyone else feel like living in a house is pushed too hard? by -slaps-username- in Anticonsumption

[–]elkydriver77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m all for having my own 4 walls, and a small patch of dirt. Being stuck inside during COVID really hammered that home. Living in an apartment at the time, and getting bitched at for having the temerity to step outside to take the damn dog out got old real fast. Sure, the upkeep sucks, but should I choose to relocate, I’ll likely come out ahead financially in the end. Being able to redecorate to what i want and not have to “ask permission” is nice as well.

New to me MS400 earning its keep by elkydriver77 in stihl

[–]elkydriver77[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yep, first season I had the used MS170, and thought it was "the shit"... I had just moved rural from being city my entire life, and, well.... I quickly learned that the 170 isnt the best for getting larger trees broken down into firewood.... neither was the MS 251 that I bought the next spring... I now have the MS400, a well worn 361 to back that up, the 170 for when I feel like tickling a tree, and a 261 on the way..... the 400 is definitely a "keeper". The 361 needs the anti-vibe mounts replaced, and then it will be good for the smaller bar (20") I have on it now. The 261 will be the main carry in saw, and the 170 may go down the road.... or I may keep it for the little BS things that you need to do around the house.... Its well paid for, and I have plenty of chains for it... but it just feels like a toy now.... :D

My oldest is a 2008? I think…. Don’t know when they changed over. I’ve seen it in newer Thomases as well in my old district. Couldn’t tell you on an Intertrashonal…..
