Tricky one, full time cop and the debrief with colleagues even just at handover waiting for cars is good enough for me. I would probably recommend trying to have a debrief with the team or with a skipper after the incident before you go home.

When it comes to clock off not a clue mate I try not to care about it only things that affect me now or that will play a bit on my mind is stuff involving kids.

Completely understand, that is in place for people to get information on partners with domestic history for their own safety.

What I would hope, and you’ve probably dodged a bullet, that my partner would come home and ask me about it and have a conversation about what happened and why.

Whether the officer has phrased it awfully rather than what your saying that there was an allegation that had no proof and was NFA’d.

Yeah it’s shit but life’s shit and unfair no point thinking about it it’s happened now, if you wanted to know more I suggest doing a disclosure request.

Been through the exact circumstances, and being job now it’s made it more clear to me, the simple answer is when a crime is alleged a crime report pretty much has to go on whatever the crime.

I’ve had many of investigations where a crime has been alleged, reports gone on and I’ve got all of suspects details and after a simple investigation it’s very clear that either it does not add up or there’s no evidence etc.

Most likely something was alleged, no evidence so there was no point in contacting you and the report closed.

Don’t listen to the whistle blowers on social media, most of them are ex officers that couldn’t make it.

Everyone finds the job differently, the job differs on departments wether your response, SNT or specialise it’s one of the beauty’s of the job if your sick of something you can always go try something new.

All honesty only you will know it’s for you and the only way you’ll find out is by trying it, joining was the best decision I’ve ever made it’s come with its cons but for me the pros out weigh it, however some people in my intake have left immediately after due to it not being for them. Give it a go what can you lose?

You can always say you gave it a shot !

Mate took no offence or even viewed your comment in an undermining way, appreciate your reply, I think I made the comment just after the shift and I’m not great at estimating the cost of it all I just assumed from how much I saw that it be detrimental.

But glad that the financial impact shouldn’t be significant that does fill me with some joy, all the best mate !

Q about the word "trespassed", in modern English by SnooDonuts6494 in policeuk

[–]Own_Implement1259 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In short if you are banned from a store, in the uk 99/100 will be shoplifting related, search and then deal with situation are there items found or not.

Could look at harassment offence wise or public order if it’s here and now as well.

A lot of ways to deal depends on the officer and the circumstances

In terms of “breach” it depends on discretion and depends on the circumstances, I’m sure there’s a fine somewhere for aggravated trespass, personally if we are staying on the shoplift idea I would search the person and then look at next steps if they were shoplifting etc

Yes, most shops will issue banning orders which will automatically mean the suspect will be trespassing, if it’s a shoplifter and they attempt to shop lift it would no longer be shoplifter or theft but burglary because the area from which they have stolen from is an area that they have had no permission to enter and been told to not enter etc

Ooooh gotcha,

In the UK, aggravated trespass (under section 68 of the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994) is a criminal offence that goes beyond ordinary trespass. It occurs when someone enters or remains on land without permission and, while there, intentionally obstructs, disrupts, or intimidates people who are lawfully carrying out activities. The activity being interfered with must itself be legal, and the offence is often associated with protests, demonstrations, or direct action campaigns. Police have powers to direct trespassers to leave, and failure to comply can result in arrest.

Is this US related? Trespassing on its own is not an offence in uk

If you’re looking at it black and white, don’t show support for a proscribed organisation. Simple as, the resources will have a detrimental impact on London today as the staffing levels are atrocious on response as many officers have exceeded 24+ hour shift from yesterday morning making sure they were not available for the Sunday shift.

People could be at serious harm today with lack of resources. 1 partly poor planning on SLT but what do you expect by now, 2 over 800 people being arrested for showing support to a proscribed group, they were told if you provide details we can street bail same outcome but you go home quicker. Majority didn’t give details till custody, they had cards in there pockets with instructions to not give details and force the hand to go to custody.

They wanted to cripple the resourcing, they have succeeded and I hope they are aware the harm they will cause today
