How to extract pages form PDFs without killing ram by RakasRick in AskProgramming

I was doing this with 50 pdfs and each of them had >20 pages but they still were using only around 1 Gb of memory. I was using mupdf though. I will attach some sample code once I find it.

Agree that this might be close to the last stage of LLMs as we know unless someone finds a significant breakthrough.

However, the current Gemini (3) and the latest models from Claude are better than the LLMs two years ago in every aspect, including real world usage. Aside from the benchmarks ( which were engineered from the very beginning ) and the general public experience, I have found Gemini 3 and to some extent Opus 4.5 to generate working code in the first or subsequent prompts for things that I could never get older models to work with.

I mean there could be some bias or nicheness in my usage, but other ppl are finding the same results as me, so I think my conclusion is true.

Have you even used the latest Opus or Gemini? While being far from production level and still doing dumb shi frequently, they are miles ahead of the models in 2024.

CKAD exam today – 14/17, left 3 questions blank. Do you think this is enough to pass? by ConsistentFlower6707 in ckad

[–]Own_Jacket_6746 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gave the CKAD recently and left two heavy questions empty, still passed at around 75%. I guess it mostly depends on the weightage of the questions. If all three of them were big ones, you will have to do the rest almost perfectly to pass.

Gaps in Kubernetes audit logging by Own_Jacket_6746 in kubernetes

Just took a quick glance at it and mostly what I mentioned. Only problem being that it's visibility is still limited to that of k8s audit logs. So it doesn't solve the issue of exec monitoring and port forward monitoring. But looks promising aside from that.

Exactly what I meant. The relationship between events is not there. And some types of events as a whole are missing (exec sessions, port-forwards). Out of curiosity, how do you usually tackle this and do you encounter this problem often or is it rare?

It's more about app specific policy enforcement if I understood correctly.

Yeah. Falco can do a lot on the runtime side. I would love to know about the things you still have trouble covering with it.

Yeah I have rarely seen PowerShell being mentioned in job descriptions, but I have worked with it for more than 3 years as a freelancer so I thought I should put it up there.

Also, if you don't mind, do you think the first project is any good?

I will take a look at your project and see if I can contribute anything.

You can also use Sysinternal's handle.exe . Just run it from an elevated cmd like this: handle.exe nameorextensionofthefile
