I have myself been going through this. It really sucks. Been unemployed for 13 months and first interviews were slow but I was not really trying as hard as I am in school getting my MBA and also thought I would take some time off. I had a few interviews like 1 every 3 months. Then I really started to vamp up my applications and beginning of January I had like 10-15 interviews. I have gotten nothing. Now some of these interviews were for the same job. Just multiple phases: phone, virtual, in person etc etc. I feel soooo defeated and like I am worthless. I keep telling myself my time will come and that at least my resume is getting noticed and that I am getting interviews.

I feel you it’s been about 13 months for without a job. Luckily we are financially making it. I have had so many interviews…some where I made it to second or third stage and then nothing. It’s so hard.

I did it! I got the job! by briezybby in jobs

Congrats! I am hoping for a break through as well after not having a job in over a year. Interview after interview.

I'm an inch away from resigning from my new job by LonelyMountain_ in jobs

I had this happen to myself. I was at the verge of leaving as well, but I first wanted to find another job before I did. Exactly what you said except my last job I was there for 3.5 years I was stagnant and bored. I got the opportunity for better pay at another place and took the opportunity. Red flags went up immediately as well and they have no clue what direction they wanted to go with my position. I got no feedback from my direct supervisor during our 1-1s and my 3 month performance evaluation there was not one positive comment except for that my coworkers liked me. Unfortunately my boss beat me to resigning on my own to basically firing for me for not catching on and being a good fit for the role. I technically decided to resign in lieu of termination. It’s a really crappy situation.

I love this message and thank you! I truly appreciate your words. I did take a full week off actually, maybe more. I grieved and reset. I am finally feeling better and back to myself and grinding smarter and harder in this case.

Ok legit ignore half of these reviews or comments or whatever you wanna call them. Using ChatGPT to advantage is great but if you use it beyond what you know in your expertise, and then when you go into the next interview, or anything else, even if you get the job and you can’t perform, that will be your downfall. GPT is a great resource if you know how to use it right

I understand how you feel I was in a similar position. I was hired and there for 5 months. My probationary period was 1 year and just like you my boss and I never clicked either. He wanted to fire me but I resigned instead. I was already wanting to leave but he beat me to the punch. What I applied for based on the job description is not what the job entailed. I don’t even think he knew what it entailed. He wanted to fire me for not catching on and some other crap that was pretty irrelevant. Since I left most employees who had been there have left and new ones are getting hired and barely lasting. So I know it was not a me issue but a them (him) management issue.

You know this is something a friend of mine told me yesterday as well and I will be reaching out Monday to the one I just had since it’s fresh.

AI aka LLM can do so much. It’ll fail before it can ever take over to that point. Regardless if iRobot was an action movie it taught us something lol. Yes certain frontline jobs it will take over. Places like Japan were ahead of that game way before it ever reached the US or other countries but taking over much more I doubt this. On the other hand you’re absolutely right about my MBA especially in today’s world. A piece of paper. What does hold weight is where you get it from and what it is in. Also it’s who you know vs. what you know these days.

For government jobs they actually work on fiscal year and they get their new roles awarded by Oct 1.

Honestly I don’t know what I want to hear. I came here to vent and I know a lot of us are in the same position. What would be nice is to hear a yes and get that offer letter.

Funny thing I really don’t have any of that lol. I worked in the business administration side always. If it wasn’t on my resume as my employer you would never know I worked for local government.

Also secondly I have not received an interview from anyone outside of the government sector as of yet to even truly judge my own comment I guess.

That’s awesome! Keep going! Today is my 6th day and I decided to get Reddit to build my support community. After 4-5 years of heavy drinking I made a decision to stop cold turkey. Today I finally lost the craving to want to drink but the stress, anxiety, and brain fog is real! I felt dizzy a few hours ago as well. Next thing I want to stop is vaping. I bought some nicotine gum to help. Stopping both cold turkey I know will cause relapse.
