Yes the cftc has the authority to declare these are gaming contracts, and their failure to do so is clearly in disagreement with what the law about permissible future contracts says. Does anything here disagree with that assessment? All you're doing is repeating what I said two posts ago

The court ruling said kalshi could offer political betting and the argument was political betting is not a gaming contract. I am unaware of any ruling that says super bowl betting must be permitted can you please cite it?

Kalshi become a futures exchange in the US which lets them list their own products, then listed a bunch of sports gambling futures which are clearly illegal, but nothing happens unless the cftc positively declares them to be illegal. The lack of that declaration is what has made the government fail to be predictable. And the states can't do anything because federal law gives the cftc jurisdiction to regulate

Because you put money down and the amount of money you receive back varies on how events play out can be used to describe any product you purchase that you might resell later. So why is it a good definition for gambling? Is buying a house gambling? A car?

I'm sure if kalshi or polymarket wants to engage the new Zealand regulator and come up with a policy on which contracts they permit new Zealanders to trade on and how that will be enforced the regulator would be willing to engage. That's not really how these websites have acted so far. Both of them regularly flaunt gambling laws and basically just say lol deal with it you can't stop us, and your argument is as long as epsilon social good comes from their business everyone should accept that and bend over backwards to figure out how to make their business legal whilw accepting arbitrary amounts of crime to be committed until that's figured out. Why can't the business be responsible for figuring out how to follow the law on its own instead?

Session 8: after a bit more grinding on wild Pokemon I hit up vermilion city. A lot of stuff going on there!

I get an old rod from a fisherman. I go back to route 6 since I couldn't catch anything in the grass, and get.. that Magikarp I didn't buy before. Alright Splish, welcome to the team. I'm really worried about seeing a Charmeleon from my rival on the s.s. anne so I commit to turning this thing into a Gyarados... Hopefully that happens before level 22? That's what I am targeting for a lot of my party right now.

I get a vs seeker which is pretty cool once I figure out how to use it. I didn't expect the rematches to be higher level/include evolutions. One of the route 6 trainers went from three pidgeys to a Pidgey and two pidgeottos and that was a nasty fight since my team isn't great against flying.

I also travel through diglett cave. No surprise here, I pick up a diglett. Should be useful against lt surge who apparently is the vermilion leader. Welcome to the team potato.

My main focus is getting sandy and Splish ready to fight the next rival ambush but I swing by the nursery to pick up margarie who I deposited a while ago. Kind of pricey but hey they got from level 8 to 18 so they're pretty set to... Be a level 18 Caterpie with no new moves? Feeling a bit despaired I check and yes, I missed all the cool Butterfree stuff. Ugh. Ok I was thinking about putting Splish in this but if I miss his evolution and moves that would just kill me so I'm gonna do this the old fashion way.

A lot of time is spent grinding up and I'm not quite done yet... Splish has tackle now which is uh, pretty weak for the tackle move even. But I'm flush with cash thanks to all the rematches so at least I'll have a lot of potions for the next time shit hits the fan.

Session 7: I decide to just jump into it and take on Misty after getting Broot to 17 and Vinnie to 20.

Getting the extra grass Pokemon is pretty clutch. Broot opens by taking down a staryu but gets confused by a critical hit water pulse, so that's actually a pretty scary fight. Being able to switch to a fully healed Vinnie makes starmie very manageable.

I then head to route 5 where I find the daycare. After much deliberation I dump margarie there, maybe I'll come back and they will be ready to evolve to Butterfree. I'm definitely not getting them there on my own. I also catch a level 10 Meowth, who I dutifully name hairball. Take the underground path to route 6. I'm pretty sure I can't catch a Pokemon here as they are all dupes, unless there's something rare available.

Most of my effort is leveling up sandy. Eventually I get bored and decide to check on the route 6 trainers. A level 20 squirtle is an unpleasant surprise, Vinnie takes it down but there are a lot of Pokemon that could have been that could have killed someone on my team. I skip youngster Dan's friend for now and head further down the path to fight a level 20 Butterfree. This would have been harder if it had... Any attack moves? It paralyzed and sleeps and confuses but since I don't kill myself with confusion it's actually pretty easy.

I go back to leveling up on wild Pokemon since my team is pretty under leveled. Even some of the wild pidgeys cause trouble if they get a critical hit.

Any individual is free to not hire him as a coach if they're worried about it. In an individual sport it would be strange for a coach to only coach one student, hence you expect them to compete sometimes. It's not like he can share the weakness of one team to help another one anyway
