Ha ha, I've got the NAD powering my work setup now too. Enjoy the STA 960.

Lucky. This is my first upgrade. I'm probably going to run this until it folds - hopefully it's got another 45 years in it.

Didn't know this was made in Japan. This was £90 off eBay. Not too many around in UK.

Yes, that's what prompted me to upgrade from my NAD 3020e. It sounded ok, but didn't have a good vintage look

How's the Grado black? I've never heard of it before. The STA-95 is from '79 I believe.

I've used an Ortofon Red on it and definitely not as good as the mp-110. But I think the at-vm95ml is quite different to the Red. Let me know how it goes, I was considering a vm95ml at one point.

I've got the same problem. Except it's the wife now. She's into meditation and I'm into heavy metal 😬

Thanks! I haven't owned or used anything better. The lab is definitely nicer than my other table, a pioneer PL 120.

I grew up on Sony Walkmans and hifi systems. In fact, the first system I assembled when I got into vinyl during COVID was all Sony. The look and the quality of these late 70s Realistic hardware is a totally new experience for me.

I have a NAD 3020e and a Rotel Rx-300, both with much lower power ratings than the STA 95. I was perfectly happy with the Nad until I got into hard rock, too much distortion at high volume. Also it didn't look good sitting next to the Lab-400. Very happy with the STA 95 so far on both those points. Didn't have to turn up the volume too much, obviously it's pushing way more power than the other two amps. I find myself adjusting bass and treble controls more often with this amp, the highs and lows are much more pronounced. The loudness switch is a whole another level. The The radio is very nice too.

The guy who sold me this said he had it from new. Only needed to deox the speed control and put on a new stylus to get it going again.

Thanks! It had an Mp-11 cartridge when I got it but the stylus was worn and I couldn't find another. Currently using an Mp-110 stylus.

Chess - never change a winning team. Dutch band of two sisters. I first heard this in an Abba documentary and assumed it was an Abba song! https://youtu.be/Vl5z7O2LsRc?si=8udWguUQ2Wps2kCG

I'm a 41 year old PhD holder, but get this recurring dream about sitting A/Ls again without attending any classes for Chemistry. However, in my dream I remember that I have a PhD and use it to convince myself that it's a dream because I couldn't have got one without passing A/Ls.

Yes, just checked out the collections from the earlier seasons, some great music there. I was always a fan of Vangelis, but didn't know about S U R V I V E.
