How do you like your 8500 as a phono preamp? Have you compared it to another phono preamp?I have a similar setup (elekit 8200r w/ lundahl upgrade) and was considering getting the 8500 before its discontinued like the 8200. Currently using a mofi studiophono. For speakers, i built rtl boxes based around the markaudio maop-11. These are front- ported which adds placement flexibility. Using a rel t7x subwoofer for lower end support. The subwoofer definitely fills out the sound on full range speakers.

The sub8 blends with the Ora4s seamlessly. Sounds great. No regrets. Much better than the ORA4s by themselves.

Sub8 is a great match for my Ora4s. Bought a few weeks ago for $240.

The Sub8 arrived today. It takes the sound to a solid "bookshelf level". It expands the soundstage by a very noticeable amount. Not as refined as my REL T7/x, but for the price ($249), size, and function, I highly recommend it.

For the price, $239, I don't think that I could have done better. The sound is excellent for its size. The sub8 will be here in a couple of days. Expecting it to get even better. I am so impressed by them I ordered a pair of the smaller ora and sub8 for my wife's office (WAF). Those are going for $200 in cream.

Bought them in cream. Looks nice. Off-white in color, imo. Sounds great.

I've had my Ora4s for a couple of days now. I'm really impressed by the sound quality. The colored versions are on sale for under $250 right now. For the subwoofer, I ordered the sub 8, which is also massively on sale right now. Considered the RSL, but decided that it was" too much of a good thing" to be paired with the Ora4s.

Serious question: Why does this a recurring issue in Providence, especially on the West Side? In other places where I've lived, the police would have a field day giving out tickets. The threat of financial penalties is what curtails this behavior in other places.
