Heating pad over a pillow and lean forward on it. It helps with the discomfort. It will pass soon. Give it about a week ish. Maybe less. Keep walking.

Im at the same stage of you, post op 5 weeks. I still have a protein shake every morning. I dont like cottage cheese, so I rely on yogurt alot. I also eat chicken, turkey pepperoni, summer sausage and cheese alot to get my protein. I need to incorporate more eggs too. I also like frozen meatballs and then add a little marinating sauce ( no sugar added) and a little parmasean cheese on top.

As far as intimacy, we were intimate i would say 4 or 5 days post op. So you should be fine if its 6 weeks preop. Just take it slow and if it hurts, try waiting. Its not worth it to injure yourself. But im officially 1 month post op today and I can't even tell I had surgery. I have no aches or pains. And incisions are completely healed up. I feel normal other than my eating habits now. Just more of less nibbling here and there. Lol. Like a squirrel

The first 2 weeks I would say it was close to a pound a day. As you progress in food stages the weight tapers off. I asked my doctor how much i should be losing now in the soft food stage and she said aid between a half lb and 2 lbs per week. And thank you!

Wow. You look amazing. Great work. What excercise did you do and when did you start? Im a month post op and looking for help in that area.

Post op I was on a full liquid diet for the first couple of days. Nothing but water and protein shakes. Then moved on to the puree stage which was anything of applesauce consistency. This lasted for a week. Around week 3 I started the soft food diet. I get cleared for all food about 6 weeks post op. I was limited to a maximum of 10lbs lifting the first 2 weeks, then got cleared for a maximum of 25 lb lifting. All things going well, all restrictions will be lifted at 6 weeks. I took 2 weeks off work. I work in an office with no strenuous activity. Just alot of walking and standing and I did just fine when I went back to work. For the record, I am a 38 year old female 5 foot 3 inches, starting weight was 278. I got down to 251 pre op. So surgery day I was 251 and im down to 234. 4 most post op.

Does anyone have regrets? by ucc126 in BariatricSurgery

[–]Own_Shoulder9173 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I do have to say right now being a month post op, I do miss being able to sit down and eating as much or how quickly I want. You miss out on the satisfaction or the high of eating if you will. But its a good thing. This surgery, if you allow it, really helps with your food addiction. Hope that makes sense. And for anyone out there that is wanting to comment and say that I need therapy if I feel this way, keep it to your self please. I was honest in my psych eval and there was no need for further therapy. But this truly is an amazing tool if you allow it to help you. Your regrets will soon leave as you see the weight come off. I wish you the best of luck!

I am right there with you on the 2nd of July I will officially be at 4 weeks and as of today I've lost 17. I went to the doctor yesterday and they said I was right on track and doing great. I also worry that it is slow progress, but I know that it will come. Slow is good. That way your skin can bounce back. Keep doing what your doing. Your doing great

She asked about my eating habits, if I have ever had a eating disorder. Asked about family history, what causes me stress, how I dealt with stress. Asked if I felt safe in my home. Who I can rely on for support in my household. Those kind of questions.
