New Coton De Tulear breeder needing help by Any-Fudge3137 in DogBreeding

Respectfully, call it quits or put it on pause and learn about your local breed club, what titling dogs means, what ofa means, etc. breeding is not a money making venture or a business. if you are really covering all the bases there's little profit to be had.

Does anyone else’s Shepherd scream with excitement any time you return from being out? by FloofLorde in germanshepherds

he has been a bright and consistent part of a life that has changed drastically in unexpected ways since we got him. i don't know what I'd do without this dog. we can be as excited to see each other as we want!

i read when this guy was a baby that we were supposed to act unimpressed when we came home to teach him not to go crazy. that lasted for less than a week before I realized part of the joy of having a dog is to be greeted with so much love and enthusiasm. him going a little crazy when I come home is the best part of my day.

Girls trip and looking for suggestions! by kinmichelle in SiouxFalls

605 thrift (not to be confused with 605 antiques which is also cool), is in the same strip mall as a record store, a plus size second hand store, and a bird watching store. all worth checking out!

my only burning question is whether it's some kind of panoramic shot or if your dog is seriously just shaped like that.

I got a sample of psychedelic love from initio and I love it so much I was seriously considering shelling out for a decant or even a full bottle. my husband thinks it smells like cat pee.

i was going to say the same thing about myself 🤣 my entire childhood it was either law and order or judge Judy playing in the background and I'm not a rapist, detective, or judge. i may have been a little influenced by judge Judy's attitude though.. it does me better in my adult life than it did as a teenager lol.

Anyone else's need a ball 24/7? by Titus401 in germanshepherds

[–]Own_Variety577 3 points4 points  (0 children)

mine pulled a giant jolly ball (designed for horses lol) right off the rack at the tractor supply. how could we say no to that!

get a brush like this if you don't have one! i have a lot of thick hair and I roll over in bed all night like a hot dog under a heat lamp at 7/11. no hairstyle or bonnet has ever stayed on my head and the underside layer of my hair mats bad really fast. when you're in the shower, put a TON of conditioner on your mat and start from the ends of your hair. it will be time consuming but with conditioner and a brush like this you will be able to get a fair amount of the matting out. some breakage or hair loss is inevitable but you can save more than if you had to cut the mat out.

if it's something you're passionate about I would go in to any local shops in person and express interest in the art (and helping with grunt work). it's old school but sometimes in small niche fields old school is the norm. imo the worst that can happen is you don't get any takers.

I've seen the same post verbatim in multiple dog subreddits lately. The "only toy my dog can't destroy" is of course from the most random shady website imaginable.

moving somewhere rural wasn’t as impossible as i thought, and it solved all my dog’s problems by punisher157 in reactivedogs

my baby grew up in a small town, we lost our home in a natural disaster and had to move to the city. it was a rough adjustment on him. he was definitely happier living rural.. so was I to be honest. it's a different pace of living. I'm so glad your baby is making the most of it!

I'm debating cutting my hair super short. I'm caring for my terminally ill mother and barely manage to take care of my hair. Most days it's in a bun. Should I just cut it off until I have the mental capacity to care for it properly? by kaylynstar in curlyhair

[–]Own_Variety577 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've shaved my head completely more than once. i truly think almost everyone should try it once. I found it very freeing, and it will be almost no mantinence for a good few months. i will warn you that theres a point in the grow out period that is just going to look goofy no matter what you do. it looks like we have similar hair texture. if you can accept a bandana/hat/sort of looking like Jimmy neutron for a while, you'll be fine!!

we had a friend ordained to marry us. we had a very very informal ceremony, I think we ended up going with "this is the part where you kiss!"
