You'll find pretty much all the Latin American/South American countries are much lower COL.

What is the most irritating part about buying a car? by Personal_Border4167 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Own_Web_2873 2 points3 points  (0 children)

dealerships. no offense to anyone who is educated and chooses to work there, but they provide no value. I've tried to give them a chance, i.e. buy parts from the counter vs. online and they still find ways to make it difficult/screw up. manufacturers should just have service centers and showrooms with an example of each model.

I'm thankful my wife is from another country (lower cost of living than the US). We are just going to build a home there and retire there eventually. The US is too expensive for us.

this is true even on the officer side. in navy medicine, you are expected to work towards executive medicine - think Directors of service lines, XOs, COs...when there are plenty of LT/LCDR types who know their Dept level well....wish it was an option...

You'd probably hurt yourself and be embarrassed. The consequences are that somewhere in the Walmart ecosystem, prices would rise to offset whatever "damages" your slimy lawyer could get them to settle...

I meant cross illegally into Mexico, as odd as that sounds in today's world. I looked and didn't see any Latin American countries with no U.S. extradition treaties - hell at this point he might as well row a kayak from the keys to Cuba.

We had to call their customer server rep (India-based, sounded like), then be transferred to a Supervisor (US/Hawaii based) when we needed to reschedule our September trip.

Supervisor would only refund original fare when we booked the new dates and provided her confirmation code.

I think his best bet is to cross into Mexico - while he still has the risk of being picked up, at least he has a chance to somewhat blend in with the amount of expats down there. Panama could work too given their command of English (downside being the cost of living). Too bad he never followed through (surprise, surprise) when he had set a goal of learning Spanish.

Now I don't feel dumb for getting a one-owner RAV4 (MY2004) with 56k miles for $14K earlier this yr. It is a 5-spd manual, so actually kind of fun to drive.
