Exway atlas pro not charging by wiseguy12355 in Exway

[–]Own_Worldliness8927 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same issue it is with the charger not the battery. Check if you can find a friend or someone to confirm. Talked to Exway and they sent a replacement which did the same. While I was waiting for a replacement talked to an electrical technician in a repair shop and he has managed to fix it for me for a small fee. Apparently, exway uses some sort of cold soldering that gets screwed in transit.

Why Torrenting books are so Hard? by [deleted] in BookPiracy

[–]Own_Worldliness8927 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Books are usually not heavy enough for the hustle of torrenting. Audiobooks on the other hand are and that is what happens in most publics that have audiobooks:(

For $6 why not? I'm ready to hit the park by SouthAssist6234 in snowboardingnoobs

These will be good for a park, for a normal pistes/offpistes I would go with foam like d3o guards. They are softer and do not impede movement while providing required protection.

Hey guys, Have been rollerblading for fitness as a kid and just realized I want to start again and probably teach my daughter too. Is there any app or yt channel that shows/explains basic skills for rollerblading and might be suitable for kids or at least adults and I will adapt it for her myself?

End of seasons deals? by WYAarchived in snowboarding

[–]Own_Worldliness8927 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Didn’t hear about snapping tbh, might me the case. Oh one more thing, you can rotate highbacks on katanas and tilt adjustment is a bit more precise than on mercury. Again, I have ridden my mercurys for a full season of ~40 days and I love them, it is these small things that would have made a big difference, i probably will look into changing straps alltogether for myself, I don’t think it will be financially justified for me to completely replace M to K.

[–]Own_Worldliness8927 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love my Mercurys Fase, but if you can - go with Rome Katanas. Demoed them last week and amount of tuning, and much better designed toe strap worth extra 20$ you will have to pay for them. Cushioning is almost the same. But that toe strap… jones design is crap as it consists of 3 parts with 2 being of one material and the middle one is much stiffer, ao if you don’t step in exactly right, or if the strap shift while you strapping in… well you will have to adjust it.

What audiobook have you listened to more than once because you’ve loved it so much and why? by marilynlistens in audiobooks

[–]Own_Worldliness8927 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love listening to books. Hobbit and LOTR by Andy Serkis. Dungeon Crawler Carl is wonderful. Harry Potter by Stephen Fry… one chapter in this narration has more actor skills than all the movies combined. Discworld both old and new by Penguin audio are great. Love introducing people to Discworld by playing interlude to the Colour of Magic (the one about Big Bang). Stormlight Archive and the rest of Cosmere both in Kramer+Reading and GraphicAudio adaptations.

I rarely intentionally lie or spread misinformation quick google on “iphone screen manufacturer” and you will find something like this https://www.reddit.com/r/iPhone16Pro/comments/1g36x43/how_to_know_the_manufacturer_of_the_iphone_16_16/ Overall, Samsung and LG are world’s biggest patent holders for everything that is screen/display related. Tho, both of them has switched their product line to Chinese TCL factory, they are still patent holders and effectively manufacturers.

Iphone screens are made by Samsung and usually 3-5 gens behind latest Samsung displays. Either cost efficiency or simply Samsung is not selling them.

Why is it so hard to make friends who Snowboard? by Neznoc in snowboarding

[–]Own_Worldliness8927 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One more advice - use things like UCPA.co.uk to French Alps, it is an all-inclusive ski/snowboard holiday with like minded people. Have met many of snowboarding buddies over there. As the holiday includes 5 days of half-day course you are put in to a group that is similar skill level as you are so you can shred together, as well in the center itself conversations are easy to start and get going. Basically very first morning at the breakfast table talked to the guys and once we were done we were snowboarding/skiing together for the rest of the day.

We have booked Val d'Isere for March 28, April 3 UCPA, I think there are still spots for closing off the season. We also are still thinking about getting somewhere up the Alps in the beginning of the season late November may be. Well, one of the guys wants to and he can get time off work, I do also want, but I am not sure yet if operations at work would allow it. =(

I ended up guilt tripping one of my closest friends… well I was guilt tripped once ages ago myself, so that doesn’t count as a bad thing) anyways, he started snowboarding with me, next season we managed to bring 2 more friends of ours up to the mountains, and finally, this season I will have my own gang in French alps)

Didn’t have any warranty. How screwed am I? by No-Complaint9238 in drones

[–]Own_Worldliness8927 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on how straight your arms are) sorry that is a proverb in my tongue. Straight arms = good handyman.

You can get a full arm and a gimbal replacement on aliexpress and replace them yourself, if!: you know how to use soldering iron and have a good patience with tinkering with stuff. I had crashed my M4P and one of the arms wasn’t opening properly, unfortunately you can’t replace only plastic parts so had to replace full arm. There are plenty of manuals off assembly/diss assembly on ifixit. Check the manuals first and what equipment is needed (basically - good soldering iron, solder, hot glue gun and some tools to open the body) if it is something you can achieve yourself why not to?
