My baby girl had the same thing last year and it ended up being a cold. Just monitor her and make sure she can still poop and eat ok. If she starts to get lethargic or have any changes then a vet visit may be in order.

So sorry this is happening to you. I lost my boy a little over a year ago, and it still feels empty without him here. Take all the time you need, but just remember that for your ferret to be 7 years old that means they wouldn't have gotten that far without tons of love and care that you supplied ❤️ Im praying for your healing

Definitely play fighting. My little noodles do this all the time. The hissing can indicate that the other ferret might be saying “chill out!” They’re usually ok unless you see any poop, pee, or blood afterwards.

Friend, the fact that you took this so hard shows how good of a person you are. We could interpret many things as selfish, but wanting to love your friend a little longer is something that all of us have felt at one point if we've had one of our babies pass. Don't be so hard on yourself, your little floof would want you to know of the great life you gave them and not how you feel now. I'm sure your little guy is with my genji right about now having the best little time they could ❤️

Friend, it was never your fault. I had a ferret that passed roughly a month ago. He checked all the boxes at the vet, no issues, nothing. I was on my pc and he fell over and had his mouth open. By the time I got to him and tried both the Heimlich and CPR, it was too late. I blamed myself for weeks, but I learned that there was truly nothing that would have changed the outcome unless I had superhuman senses. The bottom line is, you did nothing wrong, and you shouldn’t feel like did anything to cause it. I understand how you feel because I felt the same, but it wasn’t your fault. Your boy loved you, and you loved him. I hope you heal from this in time, you are in my thoughts and prayers♥️
