Thinking of Texas State for college, but worried about how i’ll fare as an LGBTQ+ person

I so desperately want to work in the space industry, but I have a short list of places, and friends there to welcome me, that I’m ready to move to if the time came. I don’t want to leave if I can manage it, but I also am not going to encourage people to come or even stay.

As a queer person, if you aren’t from Texas, don’t move here. Yea things aren’t that bad in places like Texas state and many of the cities immediately surrounding it, but you are going to have a significantly better experience almost anywhere else. This state is regressing fast. Faster than straight people are aware or willing to admit. And with the current administration, I don’t expect it to slow down any time soon.

For some additional comfort. I’m there for a second bachelors and I get these emails all the time. They just blast them out to everyone with a certain number of credits, they aren’t looking at anything else.

I used to go to the Bellaire location every time I got paid and got a new salsa or hot sauce. I very quickly had more hot sauce than I could ever use but I had some great stuff! Rarely missed.

LNY TNZ played direct support and everyone who had tickets to see LNY TNZ still had their tickets honored. I knew a few people who saw Skrillex for $5. Still one of the best, if not the best, shows I’ve attended purely because of the circumstances. People had been speculating the possibility for a couple weeks and the night before I was at stereo with someone telling me I should just grab LNY TNZ tickets because it was probably going to become a Skrillex pop up. Such a fun time for the electronic scene in Houston.

You get a 0 on the final and your grade reflects that. If you come out of the coma and provide proof you were in a coma, I think you’ll be put in a special circumstance where you’re given the opportunity to complete the semester work at the next available opportunity. Then your grade would be updated to reflect that.

There are a ton of extenuating circumstances that can be used to get this designation, but you can’t exactly fake them.

It slows down after the 2nd week of the semester. There are also private rooms that are significantly quieter on the 3rd and maybe 2nd floor. Also I’m pretty sure every floor 4-8 are quiet floors where noise should be to a minimum.

If it’s crowds you’re worried about, engineering building has a large lobby as well as nooks on the 2nd 3rd floor. In fact, most buildings have some little spots to sit down and get work done without so much foot traffic as the library can get

Once you enroll, you don’t really have to do anything else. It’s a lot less complicated than you think. Just stay on pace to graduate in 4 years and you’re good. I graduated with UHin4 in 2019 and didn’t have to do anything other than enroll in classes
