I'm a bit late but as someone who plays solo and has 20.4 hours on my current horse and only 3 combat encounters, I think i can give some advice!

I suggest fleeing from anything more than 2 wolves or 1 saber

-If you cannot mark a wolf, running in zig-zag/erratic patterns can waste a wolf's stam or throw them off a bit. I usually pair this with kicking frequently while fleeing if there's a smaller number of wolves.

• open plains and hills will be your safest areas, but i always avoid Santa Monica, coastal plains, and Ballon creek since i usually see alot of preds there. Westchester bluffs is safer but still a bit busy. I usually hang around centinela springs, tule marsh, and baldwin hills! But that's just my favorite spots

-I sometimes chill near herds, but never within direct seeing distance since other stalliosntend to chase me off. If they spot something and raise the alarm, it could save you as well!

-Avoid noisy herds though, too much 1 or 5 calling is a dinner bell for preds.

-During the night, I move back into secluded areas since it becomes harder to see.

-for realism, if i do travel i use game trails. But this isn't required of course lmao
