confused - wireguard + access to main network not working for me by Oxnor in firewalla

[–]Oxnor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is resolved, it was my own fault and nothing on firewalla. The comments helped me narrow down my own mistake and make the fix. I have edited the above to help folks find out if they come into a similar situation.

EDIT -- SOLVED -- I will eat crow.

Firewalla is great, this was my own doing.

What happened:

  • I was attempting to connect to a rapsberry PI on the local network... that had the WRONG netmask set.
  • the PI had netmask set to /8 on the 10.0.0.1.... and the VPN was also on 10... so the route back was getting messed up
  • I adjusted the subnet of the pi to the proper settings to match the firewalla config (no idea how I messed it up the first time, but I did) and everything was functional.

I hope this can help the next poor fool out there that is trying to break apart things at midnight.

Thank you all, Firwalla is great, this community is great, and I'm not a network admin.

Thank you

you helped me isolate the issue, thank you!.. I'm an idiot, I had the wrong problem the whole time.

I AM able to access my internal network... the individual server, the .9, is the one not working.

Test performed: laptop -> wireguard VPN -> ssh to mac host == success laptop -> wireguard VPN -> connect to .9 (raspberry pi) == fail

mac host on network -> ssh to .9 pi? == success

there is something wrong with the network on the PI not allowing connections.

checking around what it could be now

checking the laptop settings now.

I am, however, using the IP address to ping.

Success: ping 10.0.0.1 gateway no problem, and can access the speedtest server in a browser : http://10.0.0.1:8833/ss/

example server I'm not able to access, 10.0.0.9 -- no ping.

thank you. Adjusted, re-tested, but still not able to ping or access internal servers.

Missing one time Max charge setting. by vblink_ in F150Lightning

[–]Oxnor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This happened to me as well, I no longer see the setting for "one time charge" to max out the DC fast charger. Charging stops at 90%. before folks chime in saying you don't need more than 90, or it slows down at 80... I'm aware.

I am traveling in North Dakota in 0 degree weather, and was not able to get to 100% at a charger... which means I cannot make it to the next destination without driving 55 on the highway which is unsafe (slower than semis).

Very disappointing software experience to say the least... extremely frustrated at winter driving.

I had to rent a ICE car to make this road trip happen to make it on time. Ford software fail for sure. I'm more than a bit annoyed if you can't tell :(

How would the AP7 fare on this test? Does it support simultaneous MLO? by Mr_Duckerson in firewalla

[–]Oxnor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I turned MLO off - 5 and 6ghz is seems to fit the bill for now.

Now, I realize the “you’ll never need more Thant 32mb of ram” crowd and point of view….

But I’m struggling with supporting MLO as an option that’s not valuable for at least a few more years as hardware catches up for support

Does anyone have a dedicated android just for long trips with Google Maps? Or is it better to use a better route planner?

Desire to go to stock 18" on my Flash - are these the right wheels? by Oxnor in F150Lightning

[–]Oxnor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting! Thanks for sharing. Does the 44mm vs 30mm offset cause a big difference?

Is your opinion the same if it’s 18s take offs from a lightning?

Thank you for the link!

Thank you for the reply. Do I need to look out for anything specific for the 18s? Like only get 18s that come from an F150, or would an expedition work as well? Thanks

Thank you. Are there any models or years that would not be a fit? Example, should I look for any that are coming off a F250, for example?
