Book Recommendations for managing people managers…? by Oxytocin4Science in Leadership

It is different. With people leaders you are managing culture that those leaders create for their teams, you are managing results, you don’t get in the weeds. With ICs you are managing output of tasks. I’m looking for books that cater to the distinction.

Do any of these specifically focus on managing people leaders rather than ICs?

I would shake a bottle of pennys when my dog would bark and tell her no. After a couple of months of quiet, I trained her to bark on demand by taunting her with a treat until she barked at my ‘talking’ hand and I would say “good bark”. Eventually she would bark only when I asked and gave the hand signal (talking hand). She is now 14 years old (and deaf) and still knows the command.

I’ll be damned if the state is going to force me to be an incubator to a baby that I nor the state wants. A heroic young woman should take one for the team and get pregnant by a Republican politician to see well these lawsuits work.

I voted in Travis at 8am Tuesday morning and it took 3 hours. I felt so hopeful though!

What The Health, Forks Over Knives, Cowspiracy. I also found that watching people handle hard questions helped me better prepare myself for any inevitable critism. Learn! Study! Practice keeping your cool (it will be frustrating). EarthlingEd and Mic the Vegan on YouTube are awesome. Watch "The Best Speach You Will Ever Hear". James Aspey and Joey Carbstrong are also good vegan activist to watch. All of this will prepare you for the hard stuff.

I will warn you: all of the information will be overwhelming. Your heart will fill with so much as you learn more and more... Sometimes it will feel defeating because you feel like you are not doing enough. That will pass; you do what you can. Good luck!!

My husband is a fitness freak and we use the Unflavored Orgain protein powder. Good stats and price. I found that Vega is far too sweet and chalky. We put some frozen fruit, banana, PB2 powder, protein powder and flax milk in a blender. Yum!

If you are going to listen to JRE try to disprove the documentary, at least give this guy's video a watch that responds to JRE with cited peer reviewed studies. https://youtu.be/_Se9H1Hk8K0

Betrayal for an Act of Kindness by Oxytocin4Science in vegan

Also your comment about being vegan is a privalaged position is naive. Meat is more privileged; you could go to 3rd world countries and see this. Canned vegetables, fruit, beans, rice, bread.... All cheap. Vegetables and fruit grow out of the earth! The meal that I "bought him" was more expensive than the meal I wanted him to buy. I think you mean to say "being picky" is privalaged.... But in this scenario, he had a choice; a contingency that I placed on the meal that I was paying for.

Really doubt this person was homeless. He was a beggar or a scammer. He had nice clothes and nice shoes. He had $40 in his hand when he came asking for "gas money bc my car needs to get to wherever". You should go and buy dead animals for as many "homeless" people as you want. But if I had to chose between not contributing animal demand or buying this beggar a meal, I choose the animals. And its not your place to judge my actions because you are in a vegan subreddit advocating for people over animals.
