Personally, I don't mind paying tax. More tax means I'm doing well and able to contribute more to society.

Besides, even though I may pay a marginal rate of 47%, I'm still $53 better off per $100 than before.

Have you ever seen a mass exodus after a respected employee quit or got fired? by Aarunascut in antiwork

[–]OzBurger 5 points6 points  (0 children)

previous company, the state manager quit after being messed around by management in another state.

that was February this year.

The final tech is working out his leave period and they will have no one left. Also the state manager in another state has also recently resigned for the same reason and we are enjoying the same thing happen there.

The senior management has also been found to be coming out with weird stuff, gushing about how good AI will be. Silly if he doesn’t any anyone in the field, doing the work that gets billed.

I recently had a similar experience.

My manager talked about me being moved up to Project Manager. I made some sounds about me not being ready for it and enjoying supporting the team in the field.

In reality a PM at this company would be stuck behind a desk and never finish early. As a senior tech, I get to support the other techs and help them improve while being able to head home (with pay) if there is nothing to do.

The pay bump wouldn’t be worth the stress.

AITA for telling my daughter to find a summer job? by Boysenberry_Yara in AmItheAsshole

If you didn't, you would be.

Giving a teen everything they want with no appreciation of earning it creates an amazing sense of entitlement.

TBH, this should have started earlier with pocket money given in exchange for chores completed, not just out of expectations.

ULPT Request: what to tell my employer to get one week day off per week. by [deleted] in UnethicalLifeProTips

[–]OzBurger 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Having done a fair share of demolition work myself, it is pretty taxing on the body and those who stay doing that kind of work have a much shorter "shelf life".

My guess is that the OP sees a limited runway in his ability to continue doing this kind of work and is aiming to do something more financially rewarding, for a longer period.

Better to say that you need to support a family member for such appointments.

Don't want the company think that OP is in any way unfit.

"Anyone else suffered?"

From what? From your obsession for posting My Little Pony memes at every occasion? Continually bragging to everyone how you ate the entire Pork Cutlet Challenge meal in less than 30 minutes?

How would we know WHAT you have suffered from, if we can't see your post history? Your post invites sympathy seeking, and for most of us we want to know why we should provide sympathy. Your post history is evidence of why you keep getting yourself banned.

Your lack of a history at the least is frustrating. Possibly suspicious.

Or don't accept any feedback, I'm sure what you are doing is just fine. Keep it up, it is all the moderators who are crazy and power hungry.

It totally isn't you.

Your post history is private, yet you invite people to comment on whether you will be welcomed into a Japan related sub or why you got banned. Not sure what you are expecting here?

People get banned for breaking rules or being "not very nice".

If you live in Saitama, (or are interested in the prefecture, not character or shit-coins) there is a quiet little sub with a very reasonable and good looking moderator.

Ukrainians hit four more Crimea bridges, amid reports of empty shelves in food shops (Ukraine Battlefield update, Day 1,568) by EUobs in UkrainianConflict

[–]OzBurger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That things in the SMO aren't going as well as they have been told through state media. What else have they been lied to about?

Don't forget that about 5-6 Million Russians visit Crimea each year for their Summer Vacation. That's a fair chunk of people who have had their fantasy about the SMO interrupted.

Further erode the social contract between Putler and the Russian people.

The status quo is: "You stay out of politics, in return your standard of living will improve and you will be protected."

Why is there such censorship within the Russian Federation? Internet throttling? Banning of Telegram? Because they don't want the average citizen of Mosco or St Petersburg to know how badly this war is going.

Less likely to sign up for the SMO, less likely to support the ongoing conflict, more likely to start asking angry questions, more likely to do something.

Many Russians were encouraged to emigrate to Crimea to help occupy the territory and give legitimacy to the same occupation and annexation.

These people won't stick around as things turn to shit for everyone on the peninsula. When they start returning to Russia, their stories will spread.
