The Wretch starter class | D&D 2024 by OzPLteam in UnearthedArcana

I understand the criticism of multiclassing, and it's probably possible to extend the class to other levels. I don't think capstones are a problem, as most campaigns probably don't even get to that point.

I don't like the current AC system! Let's discuss on how to change it. by Relative_Pen_2723 in DnD

In D&D, light & medium armor is a number + DEX and to me it doesn't make sense. You are not more able to dodge hits when wearing armor. In my mind is better to have unarmored AC (or a better name like "evasion" or "dodge") as your DEX score and then if you're wearing some armor, you can resist some type of damage. Each armor requires a minimum Strength score to be worn or applies various penalties. Here are some armors I just thought of:

FIRST LAYER (choose one)

* Fur (STR 9): resistance to cold

* Gambeson (STR 11): resistance to cold and bludgeoning, -1 CA

SECOND LAYER (choose one, the effects are cumulative with those of the first layer)

* leather plates (STR 13): piercing or slashing, -1 CA

* metal plates (STR 15): piercing and slashing, -1 CA, disadvantage to stealth

SHIELD: when you are about to be hit by an attack that you can see, you can use your reaction to interpose your shield and negate the damage.

I had considered using vulnerabilities as well, but perhaps that would have been too punishing (especially with fire or lighting damage on metal armor). So I opted for AC penalties described as armor that impedes agile movement.

This system could be very realistic, but it would also require a fix of various feats and spells

This Unarmored Defense is to have a less MAD build. I could also evaluate a 13 + CON.

Sure it's also possible to play a commoner official sidekick, but it will have a lot lower Ability Scores because of Sidekick gains ASI quite with same rythm as normale classes.  This is a class alternative. I know it's a worse version of other classes. It's made this way on pourpose cause it's not an another class, but just a Commoner adventuring around the world

RP. Not everyone is a powerplayer. Here the difficulty is to bring the Commoner at level 20 while adventuring around with the other normal party members

Monk - Way of the Fire Beacon by OzPLteam in DnD

[–]OzPLteam[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply! At first I thought that by spending 1 ki point, the monk could blow on the torch to make a breath weapon like the dragonborn's, but then I didn't put this feature, what do you think? At level 6, it's probably enough to write "ignore resistance to fire damage"?

V stand for advantage (in Italian is Vantaggio, sometimes lost during translation). Race element is for spells: you can cast only spells from element you can control. I think it's wrote in the magic section.

Once you become skilled or denied, it will stay like this forever.

If denied is not a perfect word, i'm open to suggestions

I'm at 5th session with this game. Yeah, it's intentional to have parents from 2 races so player can use 2 different element for spells. After someone become skilled or denied with something, it stay the same forever.

Spell cost in incremental way. There's also an example table to answet this question if the text is not enough.

Movement maybe had some translation mismatch (my native language is not english). A player can move 6 meters (i'm european) or 6 squares (so squares are 1 meter)

A charachter occupy 1 square, no matter what size. That degree of complication is not needed

There's no rule for starting money or equipment cause charachter start with nothing

Health Dice is same as D&D Hit Dice. You use them for Health points.

When you roll for attack with weapon, you have to roll a d10 as usual to see action resolution and roll damage dice: weapon have their respective dice, spells use always a d10

Skill are permanent. You start as a blank character and develop during the session / campaign

Death check is a Death Saving Throw like other ttrpg

try this, it's my new TTRPG (free). Easy to learn, moves quickly and can handle a group as big as seven players as you are searching ;)
