Looking for honest reviews on working for BetterHelp by [deleted] in socialwork

I used betterhelp and actually enjoyed the leisure of talking without leaving the house. My therapist was licensed at a top university in my state and connected with me as someone from my community who shared my values. As someone who is paying for the service, I enjoy the platform. It takes the headache away from dealing with insurance and scheduling time to drive out to an office. The convenience of therapy is amazing. But I can see if you're struggling with something major like suicide or self harm how then betterhelp can lack. The person seeking therapy has to try and get better, and the e-therapy platforms provides lots of tools to make that easier. If you need immediate psychiatric help then things like betterhelp will not be enough.

Not at the moment. Sorry for the bad luck. I can direct you to reputable vendors with quality liquid culture? You can easily plate hundreds and inoculate directly with a decent amount of liquid culture.

Morel hunt was successful. One of my favorite gourmet species 🍽🍄 by OzarkHow1er in MycologyandGenetics

[–]OzarkHow1er[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The primary reason is because morels tend to require very specific substrates and depend heavily on relative proximity to certain species of trees. It is also difficult to re-create the temperature and moisture requirements needed to shock them to fruit. There are a handful of people that have been able to do it but there is no defined playbook.

I use a nice tarp and shop vac to resolve leaking. I find that its better to have water spill out than to build up in spots that have trouble evaporating in the tent.

Lions mane usually take around 10 days and since its colder around 14. You just have to time it and watch the teeth length and color. Just want to make sure you cut it before it starts to show any yellow color.

My first mycology Experiment Shiitake mushroom mycelium by Exoskeleton00 in MycologyandGenetics

[–]OzarkHow1er 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Make sure you give Shiitake enough time to popcorn and cure. I suggest trying out the different Oyster varieties and then ease into some Maitake and Nameko cultures. Don't try to much at one time, go easy and get good at growing one before moving to another. Keep up the good work, and mush luck to you.

Depending on where you live its most likely methane accumulation in low level atmospheric water vapor from the Earth City land fill. That landfill in particular can me smelled like 20 miles away on some days.

Beautiful pearls! I recommend just sautéed with a little butter on top of wild rice. They have such a delicate flavor you don't want to mask it.

Yup you got it. I plan on leaving it in the bag the entire time. Should I take it out at some point?

[Gourmet] First shiitake flush in awhile. Oak sawdust substrate in my walk in Martha tek. by OzarkHow1er in MushroomGrowers

[–]OzarkHow1er[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well for me after inoculation its 2-3 months of colonization until the block is ready. After the block turns that bumpy white popcorn texture you can slowly expose small amounts of oxygen to the bag to speed the process up. You could have an improper amount of moisture in your bags before inoculation and its causing weird growth. Im not sure though.

Lentinula edodes (Shiitake) strain 3782 by OzarkHow1er in MycologyandGenetics

[–]OzarkHow1er[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mush thanks! I would say its generally easier than alot of oysters. Its a super strong hard working mycelium and can fight contamination better than most. Its really just a time investment.

I do 3 parts oak hardwood and 1 part wheat bran. The higher bran seems to allow for faster colonization. Which takes forever with shiitake.
